Well, funny to me anyway. I pull up to a light next to my twin. Same color, year etc. Different wheels. So the guy. Looks over and i give him a wave. He sees what Im driving and has the look on his face like. Oh yeah, good choice. Light turns green. We both crawl off the line. So obvious we were both not wanting to incite a race. Why wife realized it too.
Ever notice how the AT tranny jumps off the line? Kind of jerky, I find i'm self conscious about the exhaust. Like I am trying to race even though I'm at half throttle.

^ LOL I would have to agree, I think since I am usually shifting around 2700 rpm my exhaust is somewhat loud and I have had countless civics and other bs try and race me...

same here (FI catback and FI HFC) im like barely trying to accelerate to the speed limit and everyone else goes foot to floor thinking im taking off just bc of the volume of my exhaust.... ether that or they think i have a whole lota bark and no bite haha only if they knew

 

lol I had some kid apparently a friend of a friend find me on fb and tell me that my car is slow and he raped me in his 328i sedan...I was like ummm....dude I wasn't racing you and if I was ur 328 wouldn't stand a chance haha Same deal tho exhuast is loudish so people think I'm racing when I'm just driving haha

Ive come to realize this as well. I dont have an exhaust other than test pipes and coupe mid pipe so Its louder than normal. I drive and shift earlier than im suppose to because the sound tricks me into thinking that Im going faster than I should, when in reality im going pretty slow LOL

 

Had this same exact scenario happen to me several times and as annoying it is, I just tell them yes you're right your significantly lower hp vehicle is faster than mine whatever works for you. I'd rather brush it off because to many clowns on the streets.

Just proves our G's intimidate other drives in some respect.

 

I get similar reactions with my coupe middy and Kinetix HFCs. Just enough growl to get people's attention. I've manually shifted so it shifts to the next gear sooner so the noise doesn't go up too much.
