Catalytic Converter Problem help please?
Curious to how much labor should cost. I got quoted $200 from the same guy for labor. Seems pretty steep though. Already got charged $65 for the diagnostic, but didn't have a choice on that.
Emission laws on the left coast are horrible... not worth it to move to the AZ though. There's like nothing there. It's just really hottt

Yup! That works nicely. Bit of a drive though. Like an hour or so.
hahahah yeah I figured it was alot and yeah I'll probably contact him soon about the install. I'd do it myself, but it'd probably take me way longer and I don't have the time to spend right now

See if the $65 diagnostic gets absorbed into the install cost if you bring the parts to him. Then it's only $135 for the install. Some shops charge a diagnostic and if you let them do the repair, the cost of the diagnostic is part of the total price.
hmm.. I don't think it's included in the cost, but it'd still be overpriced if it were. i'll ask
The place that I went to go to is up in San Gabriel anyways so it's still around a 40 minute drive or so for me.
Any local muffler shop will be able to install the cats for you, and they usually charge around 60-80 labor an hour. PM me, I can give you a recommendation if you need. Also there are some shops in Socal that don't really do the visual for the cats.
