What is this noise??

What's up fellas!!
I have a 2003 infinity G35 sedan. Ive had it for about 2 years and it has never giving me any major problems. A month ago I got brand new tires and today I changed the spark plugs and filter. I decided to do this because theres a strange rattling noise coming from the engine. My friend scanned it for codes and it's not showing any codes. Can it be the belts?? Any suggestions??

Have you checked the oil or done an oil change recently?

Just a stab in the dark here, it could really be anything. You'd have to specify when and where the noise is coming from.

Finally got around to installing Gates blue racing belts, NGK iridium spark plugs and oil change. Have a stillen air box on the way I will replace my rev up box with and add throttle body spacer I have. Also went ahead and took the plunge and ordered long tube headers. Will gets those installed in a couple weeks and Osiris tune

I went with Obx long tube. I've been doing lots of searching and reading past couple weeks. There aren't a ton of options honestly. PPE has a set that are nice but I'm not paying $1300 for headers lol. Megan made some but can't seem to find them anywhere and also everyone I saw that had them had fitment issues and the fix was to put a dent in the headers smh. SG headers sound godly but they are no longer available and cost $2000 so they would have been out of the question anyways.

The Obx are pretty much the Megan's but fit better. Several 350z guys have them and are happy with them and they sound great. I'll try to get a sound clip once I have them installed

For those that have long tube headers. How do you handle emissions test since long tube headers delete cats.

I have top speed (hks clone) exhaust. Also 5/16 motordyne plenum spacer, z tube, K&in drop in filter.

I was looking at getting test pipes or hfc and was going to skip headers because of the pain/cost of install but changed my mine. During my research into headers came across LTH and figured why not kill two birds with one stone for half the price.

You won't pass emissions with LTH so if you live somewhere with requirements they are a no go or you better have a hook up lol

Good luck! Hopefully it will be fine. Some states with test are more strict than others but usually test pipes fail. HFC are good. I guess if you have resonated test pipes you will be ok
