HELP...myG35 just stopped!

I own a 2008 G35S...was at the store came out...went to start car nothing. Lights, horn, windows work...wouldn't take a jump!

Left there overnight...was able to start in the morning. Once I shut the car off again it hasn't started since. I had a friend check it out, but it wasn't nothing he could do...had it towed to our local Infiniti dealer...they came back with all kinds of codes.Needs ICCU, BCM, ECM, 1933 CP - I looked this up...I think it's the Camshaft Position Sensor.

The battery is only 4 months old - it's now dead. They also said Negative battery Post needs replacing, C Racked and split test marginal.

Has this happened to any one?

I'm so upset!

Did they test the alternator? Or did they just pull codes? I've had bad alternators on a few cars and it gave kind of similar symptoms. If I started it up and ran it for about 30 minutes and turned it off it wouldn't turn back on for a couple hours.

Hello...thanks for the response....I don't know if they checked the alternator. I have a dead car now. Maybe I can take the battery out and get that replaced first. Then see if anything happens. Whatever it was killed a brand new battery.

A bad alternator will kill a new battery in about a day. I know because i put a new battery in when I had a bad alternator and it was barely able to make it to the dealership the next day. Try to charge the battery or put another one in there, if it starts right up its most likely going to be the alternator is not keeping it charged. The other codes you have are still concerning though.

Bad connections would cause this issue. Replace the battery terminal.

I have to first get someone to take the battery out...that's a tricky process itself. Thanks for the response

I have to get someone to take the battery out...then I will get another one. The one I have will not hold a charge. It's under warranty. You're right about the other codes...I'm almost thinking it's not worth it!

Thanks for the response!!

Yeah it is tucked back under the plastic cover but that plastic piece comes off. It just has those plastic clips holding it down.

IT sounds like a battery terminal issue.
I recently had a similar problem, except that the bad battery terminals actually caused my alternator to blow out and take the battery with it.

My negative connector kept coming off slightly and with would not start. I had a dealer try and maneuver it and tighten the bolt was so stripped that it kept falling off, my friend would have to push it down while I started it. I found a video of how to take the battery out. I've never worked on my car and did this, it was actually super easy. just a few clips. Ended up having to flip it upside down using plyers to make the circle smaller then chisel it down on the little prong thingy that comes out of the battery. hasn't fallen off since!

Just stating never put a new battery in a car with out checking the alternator first. This way if the alty is bad you know to replace that first rather than wasting a new battery.
