I'm assuming I have a Stillen Gen 1 catback on my car. I can barely hear the thing so I doubt i'd pop over 95db. Almost considered going back to stock since it has more of that classic VQ sound.

Correct on how to measure the decibel. Yes, I'll be just doing my own testing, heck I am not going to ref officer just to test out my db meter lol. This law is an absolute bull to me, I am pretty sure I did not vote for the people that presented this bill, CA is just broke right now with all the gov't shutdown, LAUSD teachers on strike so they squeeze in every possible way to tax people more. My G is tuned and it wouldn't make sense to put it back to stock, I have a daily to drive around thankfully.
Godbless us Californians!!!

^Agreed. A mild exhaust setup where someone is not trying to sound like a ricer shouldn't have any issues. I wouldn't be surprised to see them testing the DB at a random smog check though.
I was straight piped for 5 years and never had a problem with cops over the exhaust. Grant it, turbos help eliminate rasp and I have the silencers installed in the exhaust but mine is definitely louder than stock.
