ive dumped a lot of money over the years into aftermarket parts, accessories, upgrades, etc. eventually you will come to the same conclusion. if your parts actually make the car better, nissan would have made the car like that from the factory.

as far as i'm concerned now aftermarket parts really are just an alternative to OEM parts you cannot afford, or are no longer available. I'm not going to buy nissan brake pads, when mine wear out because i can get something else for cheaper, but i'm not going to put on some massive red brakes just to look cool.

i apologize that my posts turned into rants, but ive just had so many bad experiences with aftermarket parts.

even when using the best quality parts, [ ie) nismo, trd, dinan, mazdaspeed -- over the last few projects ] , i just ended up realizing that buy the time i finished building a dinan m3 s3-r, i could have purchased an e92 m3 for much less, and it would a better vehicle in every possible category. add up all your parts plus the price of your car .. you easily could have had a fully loaded g37 by now.

....
wow u are blind. jus cus nissan made the car a certain way doesnt mean it makes the car perform at its best. take the intake for a prime example. they do alot of things so it meets a requirement even tho it will sacrifice performance.

Nissan and 90% of every other auto manufacturer caters mainly to everyday peons who buy cars to get from point A to point B and more than likely dont even know how to change their own oil or a flat tire, not enthusiasts.

and the aftermarket crowd caters to peons that are stupid enough to pay $300 for a pipe with a cone air filter on it that actually reduces horsepower because it takes in warm air. but hey? at least it SOUNDS faster right?

Different people have different taste. Some people like it clean and simple, and some like it rice. Who cares.

everyone has a different view so split you keep your car stock its yours just know there are alot of people who have put simple bolt ons on the same car you have and guess what. its faster, sounds better, stops better handles better, gets better gas milage and on top of all that they are happy with it. its a sense of ownership and not being just like old guy next to you at the light.

and car dealers rely on peons like yourself to keep coming back and paying them 300 bux for a part that cost 25 and 25 bux for a turn signal bulb or 200bux an hr for something you can do at home. is this your way of saying your not mechanically inclined? or i bet you think your car is better than a nissan too

split, you're not alone. I'm bone stock also. There are thousands of fixed up cars. And only 1 or 2 actually grabs my attention. The rest just looks tow up me.

Why do I post here? It's a g35 forum. So I thought I check in to get advice on maintenance and other crap. And to complain about some of the problems I have. I'm not here for body kidt, black housing lights and scion roofs. lol
