Question 6MT "Clunk"

First off, my specs... 2005 6mt coupe. Approx. 8500 miles.

Next, the question... How many of you have a "clunk" sound when shifting from 1st to 2nd, especially when trying to shift quickly (depress clutch fast) from 1st to 2nd? I've had this issue ever since I got the car last year and the only way I've managed to avoid the sound and feel was to slowly and carefully press the clutch in OR when shifting from 1st to 2nd during a turn (interesting). I've never been able to quickly shift from 1st to 2nd on a straight away without this "clunk" of a sound.

Anyone have the same issue with their 6mt? I know there was a thread long ago about this but I wanted to see if more are having this problem since then? Or is it not a problem and I just need to learn to shift this car better.

Thanks in advance for any input.

funny thing, I can sorta tell when it's going to do it. depends on the RPM, if you let them go lower... it's weird, but after a while of driving the G, I can tell lol

I have it as well. I noticed that I get it a lot of the times when I shift anywhere higher than 2500 rpms. When I shift at 2000 rpms, it's fine.

I have a 2004 6MT 12,000 miles I get that clunk 1st to 2nd when it's cold. And sometime 4th to 5th at high RPM's. My 95 civic doesnt even do this, what Gives? I'm thinking of changing out all the tranny fluids and rear diff with some "TOP SECRET" Oil I got.

hehehe

i have that same sound and i have my 06MT for 2 weeks with 350 miles on it. my guess is the rear wheel drive or sumin, i dunno. i had a civic before and it doesnt do that or any civics i have driven. its sumtimes harder to get it smooth on the G.

Optional
I have a 2005 6MT with 7300 miles and no clunks in the tranny. Just the good vibration as the RPMs fall around 3K.

My VDC is always on. I heard from somewhere that we get that clunk sound b/c the transmission fluid is still cold and has not warmed up yet?
