"service engine soon"

hey guys i dont know how or why but the CEL came on 3 days ago,but it also went away yesterday....and now today it came back again!!!...was happening?btw my car is 03 AT coupe with 41k miles...

i have all these mod for pretty long time without any problem heres what i have:ztube-pop charger,1/2 plenum spacer kit,magan testpipes,evo2 exhuast,UR crank pully,oil catch tank.

things im trying:
disconnected the - battery wire trying to reset the ECU

hey dave.. when was the last time u changed ur oil? maybe that could be it..

i dont think its my oil....,i went to autozone today..they used the scanner ...and the code came out something like bank1 and bank2..the guy said im runing kinda LEAD.
it could be my o2 sensor. and he said if the light comes back ,go to him he will clear the code again.
he said something about the weather sometime cause the sensor reading?....i dont know...
what u guys think the problem is?ithink its my testpipe,but i had it on for 2-3 months untill now its having the o2 sensor problem???...

I am quite sure this is the problem

Alot of people are experiancing this lately because the cold weather makes it difficult to tighten the gas cap - - many threads have popped up out of no where with the same issue in many different forums

what I did was tighten my gas cap - removed the neg term for 2 hours and viola SES light = gone.

when you dont tighten the cap all the way, the light goes on. It was somewhere near 0 outside here in maine and I didnt have the strength in my gloveless hands to tighten the cap ti'l the click.

hey ur right! i pop up my navi it said something about my fuel cap might be not tight enough!!!

wow ..bugged out how something so simple...can start to cause you a headache right.

Yea the cold days and that three click system without gloves is definitely pretty painful..But at least its a quick easy fix and there is nothing truly wrong so thats a good thing.
