Car Broken Into

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Apparently there's a lot of Infinitis getting broken into. I was at Bazookas in Secaucus this past weekend and came out to find that someone had broken into my car and two other Infinitis (G35X and FX35). The wierd thing is that they only took my owner's manual and registration. I contacted a shop near Hackensack that does a lot of work for Park Infiniti and the guy was saying that he sees a couple a month where they break in to take the headlights. I guess I got off lucky with only a broken lock.

Got some great news today though. They found a stolen car with something like 40 registrations and they think they might be able to catch the guy. Trying to hold myself back from getting revenge on this guy if I find out who he is.

Even with the damage still going to try to make it to Liberty State Park this Saturday.

Sorry to hear that bro!

Hope everything goes well to getting the G fixed... There are a lot of haters out there, and have nothing better to do than to mess with people's ****!

I got sort of lucky but not so lucky with the registration. Lucky in that the police now have it so hopefully they didn't make a copy. Plus the car is registered in MD but located in NJ. Unfortunately they now have my sister's info. Luckily her fiancee is secret service and she has a rotweiller so things could be worse on that front.

Just livid that someone would break into my car. I found the security guard at the parking deck after it happened but had to interrupt her making out with her boyfriend to report the break in.

Couldnt they get a key made if they have the key code number? I believe when I bought my car (2005), they said if I loose my key, they was a little metal tab strip with the key code and an Infiniti Dealer could use that to make a new key. If they have your registration, I'm assuming Infiniti would want some sort of verification, so they'd use that. Just a thot....

Ok, was feeling much better until I saw the last post. Didn't realize I had a little metal tab with my key code and guarantee I no longer have it. For those of you that haven't checked, you may want to look into this.

I was parked @ TCBY/Houlihans in Secaucus today and somebody tried breaking into my G35 today. They drilled right into the lock with a screwdriver or something.

Anybody know how much this is to fix??

welcome to damage control i bought a new lock for $45 and a new door handle for $80 bucks. they damaged my door too but i ll get that fixed soon. cost about $1600.00 to do the job. did they damage the door too? if not just buy the lock and if you need a handle they are color matched so you don t have to worry.

What about new keys or coding the lock? I can't simply just purchase a new lock right?

yeah, it has to be adjusted to the valet and ignition keys. the lock comes with nissan keys ( which i use now instead of the regular keys in case i get locked out ). i didn t want to go to the dealer or a lock smith to adjust the cylinder.i saved the money good luck my friend

Insurance covered mine but the bill was something like $600 to replace the lock, cap that covers the lock and fix some minor damage on the door. The price was that high because they had to actually do work on the door and repaint.
