proper idle
ok i posted recently that i had my ses light go on and a slightly higher idle after i got a oil change and cleaned the throttle body etc...ok anyway i did the pedal reset, the whole relearning procedure and everything seemed fine...my car used to idle at like 300 rpm...then after the oil change was at like 900-950..then after the reset was at like 650...ok so everything was ok till i drove my car a little fast...the stupid SES light comes back on so i take it to advancedautoparts to have them check the code...their stupid comp wont work with the g but i explained to him what i had done and he just told me to disconnect the negative battery terminal and let it completely reset..so thats what i did...no ses light for some time but my rpms are back down to like 300 rpm???...thats not a normal idle is it??..i mean the car runs fine other wise and i never really payed attention to the idle...i just figured after the intake, spacer, headers, and dual exhaust the idle was gonna be lower...anyone have some comments on this??...im sorry for the long post but im just concerned...i hope my idle doesnt drop to like 100 after my grounding gear install!!...
have your car checked by a dealer. the pedal-reset method is perfect for restoring correct idle. you can also do more procedures outlined here:

as far as SES light goes, it could be as easy as having a dealer replace an O2 sensor. should be a TSB out for that. have them check it out.

so i am looking at my tach on the way home and think.........um.....thats 650 rpm i idle at, not 300 rpm, as it starts at 500 rpm and each dash represents 1 rpm........i really need to re-think what i type.....oh well......back to lurking

Sounds like you're ok.

you cars can't idle at 300, esp. if you have headers........that's too low and would stall out
mine used to idle at 600, then after headers and **** no widles at 800.
adding headres and breathing stuff will generally bump idle up, not lower it.

After installing a 5/16 spacer. Pop charger/ztube and grounding kit. I noticed my idle was higher too. I did a pedal reset too.
No matter if im in Neutral or Drive its the same idle now. Weird
