Rattling sound and bad exhaust
I haven't driven my coupe for 7 or 8 days. One fine day after that I'm starting the engine and holy Lord! I'm hearing the weird rattling that sounds like metal on metal for a few seconds, then the engine starts and the black exhaust are going out for sveral seconds. Smelt real bad too.
After that, the engine worked well but I'm still worrying what can be a reason of such behavour? Some oil stuck somewhere?
I checked the oil dipstick - it was fine. And the oil was changed about a month ago. 2004 6MT coupe.

Most likely just from sitting for an extended period of time. When I first start my MR2 after it's been sitting for awhile the valves tap like crazy. Once the oil gets up to them they quiet down. Even my '06 Mercedes will smoke a bit on startup if it sits for a while.
remember...black smoke = excess fuel... blue smoke = oil... black smoke after sitting a bit means it's running rich... ECU should adjust to this within minutes... if not sooner... metallic noise is like other fella said...valves without oil... anything up top of the engine has long since been bled dry of oil by gravity... that's why it's recommended to start your car every other day or so and allow it to idle for a few if you plan on letting it sit without being driven...
remember, any moving parts that have little to no oil are being damaged when in motion... starting a cold car is the worst wear and tear on an engine it receives... i shudder when my neighbours fire up their cars in the morning, and without even waiting a moment for the oil to cycle through the engine, go tearing out of the complex at break-neck speeds... then, i laugh at the thought of them slinging a rod and having to buy a new engine... kind of an oxymoronic reaction, eh...
