oil filter

Anyone ever used the KN oil filter?

Anyone have any recommendation of an oil filter to use or does it matter?

From what I gathered, people say the Purolator PureOne filter is good, PL14612 is the recommended one, PL14610 is the same specs except 1/2 inch longer.

PureOne for the longest time was the best one you could buy at the automotive store. I hear the K&N is good too. I, however, believe that the best oil filters come from the manufacturers. I only use OEM oil filters. I use the longer filter, the one the Altima and Maxima uses.

If you want to stay with OEM, but you would like a little more filter, you can get the Nissan 9E000 filter. Same base as ours, but it's a little longer. It's for larger Nissan engines, but it fits fine on our 3.5s.

+1 for the Amsoil / Donaldson Nano-fiber filters. Good for 25k/ 1yr... can't beat that

+1 for Purolator
+1 for Mobil 1

If you do some browsing on bobistheoilguy.com you can find cutouts of many filter types and the ones I mentioned tend to be the most respected types.

I ran a bypass system on my G for a while and when I took it off and ran with their EA020 filter I had the same levels of insolubles.
