As a lot of you know CARB here in Cali has me in the dumps. Ive put sooo much work into this car Im afraid to have it impounded or towed. Here in my city they have a task force to combat the imports in town. I want to drive the car now thats its done but its not worth the stress! I had plans this year to go custom widebody new wheels ect ect. But with the new laws and such I have no intrest. After giving it much thought I was going to part the car of engine mods and make it a sweet everyday driver. But at the sametime I hate to tear a part what I built! I just dunno anymore. The car has a mag shoot coming very soon. I think after the shoot it will go up for sell. Ill set a 50k price tag on it and see what happens. But then again I really dunno yet.

Didn't I just see you post a pic of your car that it was all finish already? That's a damn shame if you have to sell it before you can enjoy it. Goodluck in you sell to nice of a car just to get rid of it like that.

say it ain't so steve. yeah, up here in sac, cops will pull you over for having the slightest hint of anything illegal. then they try to bust you for something huge. i know a few people who were randomly pulled over and every one was asked to pop the hood in hopes of finding something non-CARB related (exactly what you're afraid of). i bumped into an undercover around my work as well and although he was a nice enough guy, he said they are cracking down on the mods hard now. i see your dilemma, but have absolutely no answer for you.

Run the cars with a Mexican plate, then they'll only check your Passport but not your Smog.

This is a terriable blow to the website & this community.. I personally have spent the better part of the past year watching every post you've made. Looking at all the great work you've done, and belive you have the best G out there. I find it truly disturbing that the local & state government has nothing better to do than to spend $$ on chasing cars! And that this fact will make someone whos spent so much time, money, and sweat on a car want to part with it makes me sick. If you decide to sell it, and I could get the $ I'd be on a plane in a sec! Best of luck Steve in whatever you decide to do!

That's really sad.

The money for CARB could have gone into funding more cancer research or finding the killers, rapists, and drug dealers of our society.

BUT, that doesn’t pay now does it? It's just a business now isn’t it. More money for the state when you pay up for the tickets.

Bullsh$t! WE already pay OUT our @ss's in taxes.

I can't stand the man or the bigger ones behind them.

Done get me started on speeding violations!

Sell the car?! Nah... ...RELOCATE!!!

If you can manage to auction it for a lot (which you should be able to do, with ease, when the mag hits the stands), that's great. Let some rich kid buy it and wreck it.

Or you could part it out and have it's soul scattered to live among the G community forever. I'll be standing in line, if so. Especially for those custom mods.

Exactly. I left Cali in '96 and never looked back. No income tax in WA state and I live in a county where I dont EVER have to get smog checked. And my annual car registration is $35.
