Anyone purchase the extended warranty?

Re: Anyone purchase the extended warranty?
I was considering it, in Canada here the extended warranty is 2 grand and change.
I am pretty sure it tops out at 6 years 160km's ... and is not watered down at all through that period.
They will even help pay for traffic incidents incured while driving and being fully licensced of course and not under the booze influence.
Here, we can wait for I beleive 24 months to decide to upgrade and a service fee of 200 bucks I think for processing outside of the initial purchase date.
I will probably get it .. after years of enjoyment, I will want the extra insurance and its good for resale when the time comes.

Since my car isn't in yet, I havent bought it but my dealer offers a 7 yr/100k no deductible for $2400. I plan to get it. Seems to be cheaper than most out there. A friend of mine bought one for his expedition for $2800. But then again its a ford!

I've used www.warrantydirect.com and so has my dad. You have the shop call them to get confirmation and they pay with a corporate credit card - no hassles.
My coupe hasn't come in yet, but I checked the price for my zip code for 7/100000 with no deductible and it was something like $1100.00.

There are a few online companies that you can purchase extended warranty from. I have used one in the past and have had great success. They are usually around 50%cheaper than from the dealer. Here are a few places to check:

Re: Anyone purchase the extended warranty?
With no deductible it was 1850. If you do the math, I would require 7 visits of warranty service for it to be of any value. 7 visits? That's a bit much IMO. My POS Taurus hasn't even been in the shop 7 times.
The reason I personally went with the dealer warranty is because its bumper to bumper and the work can be done by all infiniti service stations or local mechanics. This guarantees me that authentic nissan parts will be used on my vehicle, installed by trained Nissan technicians. Not by Dino's garage with Nysson parts.

No ****....This is the first I'm hearing of it. What do you think about the long term viability of these companies? I suppose they could go belly up and you'd be stuck with no warranty. Guess it's a bit of a gamble. Do you know how long they've been around?
