Loaner seems faster than my 6MT

Had a check engine light so I brought my car in and got a loaner. An 06 sedan 5at. My car is an 05 6MT. I dont know what the deal is, but the loaner seems a hell of a lot quicker than my car. Any feedback welcome please!

Torque is higher on those 5AT's, therefore, even though it might FEEL faster, its actually slower...

Are you saying a sedan is lighter than a coupe? There is no way that the 4 door sedan is lighter than a 2 door coupe.

Umm actually, it is lighter, not by much (12 lbs), but lighter. Youre understimating the weight of our coupe's. Coupe's are reinforced for safety, and our doors are heavy as hell. Mind blowing huh?

I know exactly what you mean. I've had the 5at sedan loaner on several occasions and it does seem quick. Try stepping on the gas on a highway on ramp though. It seems to wind out quick where as my coupe seems to pull hard through every gear. Initially in traffic the sedans are fast feeling and torquey, but I think the 6MT is a tad faster and pulls harder throughout the RPMs.

5ATs have the non-revup engine that is rated at 280 horse, but higher torque

I had the same feeling, especially at the start, but like someone said we have power throughout the rpms. When both are pushed to it's limits correctly, the coupe should always win.

High stall torque converter, excellent gearing, 60-70lbs less weight, and a bit more lowend torque makes all the difference.
