Like it says, I'm getting a older coupe soon. I'd love a newer one, but I need to keep the price in the twenties as low as possible.
Requirements: Manual, Black or maybe Silver, and I'll probably want Nav.
I wont mod anything too soon, except for maybe an intake and in the spring I'll go with 19s.
I heard that if you go with 20s the back seat becomes useless because of rubbing? Any truth to this?
So all of you experienced G35'ers have any suggestions for the noob?

Same rules for any car. Check it out thoroughly. Have a private party show service records or receipts, etc.
For a performance car like the G, I would definitely look for low miles, and a seller who is not selling just because he is anxious for his next toy of the week.
If possible, and it should be, get one still under a factory warranty.
Use CARFAX when you are getting serious about the deal. It is not 100% foolproof, but certainly better than no title search.

yeah getting 20's and the back seat deal isnt true. unless you get 20s and put on fat rubbers that would change the total diameter. ohh yeah get an 05 you get the best of both worlds.. clearance strip and nice interior.

ERGGG!!!

You guys were suppossed to make this easier.
You know how hard it is to find an 05 with everything I want!?!??!
I didn't think there was a big difference between the interiors of 03/04 and 05/06, but that is important to me. I'm just not sure how important. The extra horses are nice too, but I don't know if I'm willing to give up my color preference and pay that much more for an 05.
I love the feeling when shopping/researching for a new or newer car, but it's sooo frustrating and stressful at the same time. The suggestions definitely help though. Thanks everyone

Do what I did, go drive them both, then make up your mind. Advice from us biased people is informative, but you have to make your own decision. After I drove both, there was not a question.

I'd say that's especially true with the interior look and feel. The 05+ guys make a big deal out of the interior changes, but if you have 03-04 with the titanium interior I don't think there's that much of a difference. Yeah it's "plastanium" as I think Afr0puff said once, but to me it doesn't look a whole lot different or a whole lot cheaper than the real aluminum. If you can find a low mileage 03 or 04 with the sport interior I'd say you've done a lot better than to pay several thousand dollars more for a little more metal in a newer car.

good things come to those who wait haha

the interior may not look different from far away but when you're up close and driving, it's a big difference.

you'll notice how most of the parts is wrapped in leather (the head of the gauge cluster, the side of the center console, the top of the temp display, and the door panels.) you may not notice it now but if interior is important to you, once you own the car you're going to notice the details.

pm vlm7, hes a member of the national G club who takes very good care of his car, hes trying to sell due to marrying and having to buy a house, you might want to check it out because hes open to sell it in the price range youre looking at and he has the specs youre looking at.

and like everyone else says, inspect the cars carefully and if possible bring a mechanic.

budget?
hey well if your budget is really tight and can't affor the 05's (cuz I doubt you'd get an 05 G coupe for around 20K), just go and look for 03 or 04 with lower mileage. Well like many people suggested the 03/04 black/silver interior is nice plus you'd have better chances getting one within your budget. My friend got his used 03 G coupe, get this, only '21K' miles with warranties at Infiniti dealer for $23500+ttL, anyways, good luck on finding your car man.
