Tint is not legal.. but is it??
Im in california, and i know it is illegal to tint the car to 35% all around but i was wondering if i would get pulled over for it?? i guess i mean do they enforce tint laws? im in the bay area if this helps any..
Maybe I misunderstood your question, but I don't see how it could be illegal to have 20-35% on rears as almost every SUV comes from the factory with 20% on all rear windows. Do you mean 35% isn't allowed on the fronts in CA ?
actaully when i got pulled over for my front tints, the cop showed me there was a marking on the front windshield. it was approx. 5 inches down from the top. he told me that my front tints can not go above that mark. so YOU can tint your front windows, just not the whole window. (ACCORDING TO THE COP) anyone can back this up?
yea, thats true. you cant tint the front glass past the AS1 line. as far as I know, you must stay within the legal limit for the front two windows. the rest can be as dark as you want.

cops in chicago won't pull u over just for having them. if a cop stops u for something else they usually won't give u one for tints also - unless u give him a hard time.
i'd tint and just pay if u do get a ticket - no big deal.

in my area, the violation does not come with a fine. Its a repair order. you have to peel off the tint and a state inspection station sign off on the repair. You THEN have to take the car, along with the signed repair order to your local state police barracks for visual inspection and final signature from a state trooper.
