Sadly guys the 08 coupe will in all likelyhood and 90% feature the same engine being used in the new 350z which will be the 306hp VQ35HR, same one the sedan is using too... those engines will be putting down conservatively 260whp the 275whp on a BMW will own us especially if its a force inducted 275 and not to mention while we struggle with meaningless bolt-ons to squeeze a few extra ponies the BMW driver will only need an exhaust and ecu program to squeeze out a couple dozen ponies and just slaughter us.... its just a sad fact of going FI, and with their small ball bearing turbos and heat protected engine they're not gonna have any lag or heating issues... BMW engineers great cars guys keep that in mind... sort of extensive bolt-ons the 08 isnt gonna smoke a 335i by more then a car length
Who ever said the new 08 coupe was going to get the VQ35HR? I dont know if you heard, but Infiniti has already registered the "G37" name. Think VQ37HR. If the VQ35HR can make 306HP, think what more displacement will make. Infiniti isn't stupid, and they have very wise marketing techniques. They released the coupe AFTER the sedan in '03, and theyre doing it again. In 03' they released the sedan with 260HP, while the coupe was released with 280. For some reason, I think its going to happen again. If the sedan can kill finish the quarter in 13.9 and a 5.2 0-60, I can only imagine what the new 08 coupe will do it in.

BMW is notorious for understating their official times. 4.9 was run by car and driver in their october issue.

Nice engine but the car itself is uglyyy and the interior is as "sporty" as the interior in my Civic sedan... By the way, I currently own a BMW too, but an e46... G will most likely be my next car

Actually the 5.5 you cite is for an automatic; 5.3 is for a manual. BMW doesn't launch the car for their test nor do they power shift. In other words the quoted time is very conservative. The 335 is just about as fast as the E46 M3.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you can't outrun ugly (and fat...). Take it to the Nurburgring and then we'll talk. You can magazine race it all day long, but fun isn't a straight line.

I recently put a custom order in for an 07 335i coupe with just about every option for my sister's graduation present. It's going to be here in about 6-7 weeks, so i'll be sure to post a report. Unfortunately, it'll have the steptronic... but oh well.

I've taken a look at a 328 coupe at my local dealership, and... i have mixed feelings about it. I think overall, it's a pretty nice looking car that you won't really be able to go wrong with. Personally, i prefer the way the g35c looks, but I also think that the g35 coupe has some issues with the proportions...

go to ur infiniti dealership and ask them to show u the info they have on it on their private site... they have to have a special log in and pass to look at the site and it tells them all about the car... its expected release date on there is april 2007.. now... since when did the G35 ever have a different engine then the 350z, especially a bigger or more powerful one? Dont u think that nissan would place the larger and more powerful engine in their sports car first and then their luxury sports car... the sedan when released had the same tunning and performance as the Nissan Maxima's VQ35... and up until 2005 i believe it was still running the same tunning... after which nissan decided to place the same engine that was being placed in the coupe into the sedan...

Nissan has no talks of a new engine in testing or development.. the GTR is even going to come out with a VQ35DETT or maybe even now a VQ35HRTT considering the new 350z if going to bost the same engine.

now, THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE THE G35 COUPE A LARGER ENGINE WITH OUT DOING IT FIRST TO THE 350Z WHICH IS NISSANS TRUE SPORTS CAR.

i dont know about u but i dont see a 370Z on anysite even being mentioned, so u think that a G37 is going to come in the near future? think again. Any time Nissan releases a new engine version the 350Z has gotten it first, even the rev-up engine, nothing is going to change now.

I like Nissan, and love their cars but the 335i is going to smash on us and i wouldnt be surprised if it does the same to the 08 coupe... maybe not smash it, but take it by a car... its the sad fact that stock NA tunes have trouble competeing with stock FI tunes.. BMW have always made great and fast cars and i dont see anything will change now... Im just waiting to see if Mercedes plans on upping the game with placing a new engine in their C230 or C320 sports sedan... maybe even their old 350hp 3.2L SuperCharged engine.
