It shouldn't. I have metallic tints in all my cars from 2 different companies, and Navi and Radio work just fine in all of them. (All 3 of my cars have the same type of radio antenna)

ask the installer.. If the tint has medal inside of it.. It can mess it up.. There are tints out that have no medal in them so that this sort of thing is not a problem..

Navi almost certainly never messes up with any tint cuz of where the antenna is located. AM reception has been crappy after metallic film tint on the back windown for *some* people. I got ceramic on the back window to be safe. YMMV

I haven't noticed any problems with the radio. I don't have nav so can't comment.

here is the email that i got from the tinter.....do you think it is ligit?

I don’t need to pull the door panels on your car. There is a trick to keep the window up while I tint it. The dot matrix is a 50/50 chance. If it doesn’t stick I have some adhesive to add to the mix. Cuts 50/50 to 80/20. I do use metallic films, but I have not had any of my G35s come back for any nav or reception problems. If it does, I have a cure for that also.

Friday is out. I can get to it just after lunch tomorrow, or sometime Saturday.

Do you have a garage?

Steve

True. I watched my installer do it. He did something with the switch on the door-frame and the window stayed up. When I lived in SoCal, and had an M3 tinted, they just pulled the window-fuse to keep the windows up.

It should be fine. Came out ok on mine. Don't let them not tint it if it doesn't stick tho. Another shop did that to my TL, and it looks like crap.

Like I said, I have metallic tints in all my cars, and I don't have any problems with the Navi or radio reception in any of the cars.

LLumar ATR Charcoal 20% is what I have on my car. FM/AM works fine. I don't have NAVI so I can't vouch for that but I highly doubt it'll mess up reception.
