Re: clutch wear?
can't answer your question, but i did read that a study was done as to why clutches wear out in the US faster than around the world. the answer.... US drivers didn't push it all the way down as often as they should.

Re: clutch wear?
Different types of wear cause different types of problems. I think the most common symptom of clutch wear is it engaging higher and higher from the ground. Then there's the infamous inability to push the stick into gear, I think that's caused by no hydrolic fluid. And don't forget about your car slipping out of gear after being engaged. But seriously, if your clutch is going bad you'll know.

well, i always make sure to push it all the way down...i sit pretty close to the steering wheel too. maybe ill just get an aftermarket clutch when mine wears down.

Re: clutch wear?
The engagement point should not change. We all have a LONG time until our clutches wear down....the clutch should last for 50,000 miles AT THE MINIMUM (assuming hard driving and lots of clutch grinding), so do not worry yet !!
I believe there are cars out there with 120,000+ miles with still the original clutch.

Re: clutch wear?
The simple answer is that you will feel the clutch slipping.

Re: clutch wear?
You may be thinking of brake pads and rotors. And that issue is that for Brembo brake owners, when it is time to change the pads, you have to change the rotors as well, which is several hundred dollars for the whole job. This is because the Brembos are strong and the pads take the rotors down with them.
Re: clutch wear?
no, i disagree with MrElussive's thinking on this one
The brembos are strong yes, but the whole point of 4 piston brakes is to even-out the pressure onto the rotor, meaning, it will wear EVENLY unlike standard floating piston brakes.
So, when it comes time to change your pads, i am 99% sure that you will NOT have to change your rotors as they are large and thick and will wear evenly.

Re: clutch wear?
you'll know when its wearing out when you feel the clutch slipping, especially on steep inclines

Re: clutch wear?
RamboRami, I'm not saying it based on my thinking. There are several members here who when they had to change their brake pads, they needed new rotors along with them. This is traditional of Brembo's style...the rotors wear down with the pads. Several members have complained about this...that they never expected to have to spend so much just for brakes. Even talk to your dealership, they will confirm this. =)
