you shouldnt buy a car and jump on these forums if you didnt think you would be modding it. the stock g35 is ugly to me. it was my duty to make her pretty.

what you talkin about? im in this forum because i love cars, i love my car and im here because most of us share that same feeling. I never said i was not modding it, simply said rims cost an arm and a leg.

+1

I stopped trying to add it up but I know I will be at about 30K in when I am done but that's including a set of track rims and slicks.

Most people that can afford a new G, seem to be able to afford some seriously expensive wheels/tires. Volks seem to be "the" wheels for the G. Sort of the Brabus or AMG wheel for Mercedes. Makes a bit of sense as Rays/Volks also make some of the oem wheels for Nissan/Infiniti (ie.. track 18s, track 18/19s for the Z, coupe 19s for the G). I however bought my sedan used and can't really justify $3-$4 on new wheels/tires. So I opted for used Coupe 19s w/ tires. About $1k. Just as light as the aftermarket Volks (should be they are made by the same people.), have understated styling and feature that oem look that I like.

The good thing is that there are tons of guys selling used Volks etc.. on this forum. Seem to be well taken care of and for a decent price. I'd buy used and let someone else take the depreciation hit of new.

Just my 2 yen

Toyo T1R 245/35 and 275/35

Reason why rims cost so much..........

is so the car doesnt turn into a honda civic mobile. People know its a classy sports car and want to keep it that way. The more you pay for the car the better quality the parts and the more expensive. The less you pay for a car the ****tier the parts and less expensive.

what gets me is that nice wheels are so expensive and at the same time... they are SO easy to f_ck up... curbing them, bending them (yes even forged wheels bend), etc. it's a hold up i have on investing in nice wheels, especially given how sh!tty the roads are out here in the bay area...
