New Coupe Owner

Hey all,

Well I finally found my new home. Got a G35 Coupe A/T yesterday, it's not a mystery why this is the "car of 2003!" Love the power, love the handling, love the luxurious interior and ex, what more can you want? I was going for a 6MT, but I love the luxury of an Auto/Stick vehicle. You get the best of both worlds minus a naggy clutch. Plus I hear in the long run, you would be able to beef up the A/T to take out the Manual.

I came from a G20t, was named wickedG20 on the G20 forums lol! Anyways, I hope to meet a lot of more people, can't wait to find out whats ahead in mods for this car. That supercharger by NISMO looks mighty fine.

Peace,
Wicked

Re: New Coupe Owner

I went w/ white again. I was debating with white/black/red. The dealer I went to didnt have any in stock w/ the options I wanted. (Almost all had NAV).

The white was the shortest wait. I went w/ the 5AT, white/willow, premium and wheel package.

Sounds good, same car but diff color. The white was a very nice color, I was debating between Red/Black/Graphite. Hope you enjoy your new G, I know I will.

Re: New Coupe Owner

Unless you are talking about an SMG implementation similar to what is on the new M3s, I think you are out of luck with beating a standard. And I don't know how you would jam an SMG in there without major hassles and expense.

What specifically are you talking about and where did you get your information for beating a standard?

Re: New Coupe Owner

You can't "jam" on an SMG transmission. The SMG is not an automatic trans by any means. It's basically the same 6 speed found in the M3. It just has a computer controlled clutch and shift operation. The only thing that you could really do to the A/T is quicken up the shifts or something. I doubt that anyone would be willing to go to the expense of turning their AT car into a MT. You'd be much better off just selling it and buying an M3 with the SMG system.

Guys I'm not sure on this but I think he's refering to performance mods not tranny mods. If he put in a TT or SG even if it's auto will probably beat out a stock coupe 6MT.
