if your service tech was on your side he would not need another test...i had my service tech replace my trans twice without ever testing based on his trust in my judgements in the past. it helps to be friends with the service dept makes life easy

As I posted many times in the past, I let Infiniti do all my service work. There's no question that I could have saved a few hundred dollars by having the work done by independents, but when I go in for warranty work, there's never a question of honoring the warranty. Furthermore, they go way beyond the call of duty.

I bought a J30 in '93 and after a couple of years the leather on the driver's seat was turning a weird color. I took it to the Dealer to complain, thinking that they probably wouldn't do anything, but without hesitation the service writer said that Infiniti would replace the leather under warranty. I got another surprise when I picked up my car. The leather in both the driver's and passenger's seats was replaced. They told me that they couldn't get the leather to match, so they decided to replace the leather on both seats.

UPDATE:

So i took the car in for it's oil consumption report. It seems to be fine for a while, then towards the end of November i am told it is buring more oil than need be. It snows. The Car sits garage for a good month.

I bring it out after the snow melts away and I drive it for another 500 miles, (not 3500 since my last oil change) I am told the car is fine and operating normally.

When i questioned them about the two times it's burned enough oil to rattle, i get no answer.

It snowed again so the car is still garaged.

I still hate Infiniti.

I am now looking into lawyers.

How's everyone else? :-)

wow, I really have to hand it to you, you're taking this very well. You're being so patient, and I just feel like they are taking advantage of that. I strongly agree with your deicision to go with a lawyer. I hope all goes well!

get a lawyer already and stick it to them. They probably do this a lot and nobody stands up to them.

i just saw this thread. i really feel for u. i am yet to find a reliable and well maintained stealership in my area. but i've been through the same hassles as u. i once brought my car for routine service and waited for an hour and a half while the service retards were trying to arrange transport back for me. long story short i told them to pull my car and drove back to work. they believe the world revolves around their time. i work full-time as well... yet my time means nothing to them.

i hope everything works out to the best for u.

I'm also during my oil consumption test. My dealer told me I had 1.5 quarts of oil when they were changing it and to drive 1000 miles and come back to them. The weird thing is I haven't noticed any weird noises or car overheating. I think these cars are very reliable and at least to me Infiniti is trying to fix it. It seems to me like your car drives fine, which means it is a reliable car. Keep trying to fix it if you believe something might be going wrong, but if the car drives fine you should try not to stress so much, it's not good for your health. I'm sure Infiniti will work with you if you car stops operating in a normal fashion. My 2nd gear grinds a lot too and shifts hard, and I've complained 10 times everytime I change my oil, they seem to believe it's ok, so I don't let it bother me, and keep driving since it works well. When it breaks I'm sure they'll fix it and I'll tell them I told them so a long time ago. Oh and as for your 1000 miles that they have to put on, try to get them not to take that into consideration as YOUR mileage, but if your car operates normally and they think it's only in your head, they might not be willing to work with you. Good luck man.

NOT A SINGLE PROBLEM HERE. No squeeks, no leaks, no weird this or weird that. YES, I drive this baby hard. Yes, it has some upgrades. The only thing I see different here for everyone is the year of the car and dealership. Yes, it's been a daily driver since day 01.
