Angry Venting out...

I wouldn't really post anything about venting, but I gotta let this out..

So, I got off school around 8:15 last night. I was minding my own business, chilled with some friends and helped them tweek some parts on their cars. So around 8:45 or so, I'm halfway home, random shot to my windshield..Good enough to crack my windshield and make me freak out swerving to the left side of the road; almost on collision with another car. It was some punk kids messing around in a residentual area using some F*cking metal bb shooter or whatever. My car is only 4 or 5 months old now, I got it back in July; fully loaded black on black and I waited a week for that car to come in from Iowa.

I call my dealer up just now and they told me it costs around $1000 to get it fixed and its not covered on any warranty from the dealer. I know the other route is to go to some aftermarket shop, but I'm iffy that they might do a sh*t job on my car. And I was just prepping my car up for the winter. I was so happy to get some TSW Nagaro rims with some Dunlop just for the winter and everything.

To top this off, its Halloween then tomorrow is my birthday. What makes it more worse I can't use my car in a way because of the damage done and everyone I know that want to hang out (family, gf, friends, etc) are all working. My week is just getting worse and worse..I'm mad at the fact my window is shattered starting from the bottom driverside going up. Thats just bullsh*t!

dang.. that sucks man, its that time of year where kids will be "pranking" I guess you didn't catch the kid? As for the window, many places do great jobs on replacing the windshield. The dealership doesn't really stand out as the best place to do it. My RX330 windshield cracked over the summer due to a huge piece of rock, and it cost me 300 to get it replaced over at a random shop. So far no problems/leaking.

I didn't think it would be that strong either. It was good enough to make me panic and almost hit another car. Man, I remember when I was few years younger and I didn't do any of that crap, f*cking with other people's cars, especially when they are driving.

Jee 35, so its better off going to some other place? I really don't know any good shops in my area, so I'll have to check around before I make any appointment. My livelyhood has been shattered.. ahhh

You might want to call you insurance company. For example I have glass insurance and they covered the replacement of the whole job on my last car and there I paid no deductable and the insurance only increased by about 7-8 dollars for six months. Just something to consider.

I kinda don't want to call my insurance, but I know I'm going to in about a few minutes. My premium went up a few times prior to this over minor accidents on my first car. State Farm is expensive as hell to me, but they cover really good. I'm still fustrated and I'm still looking at it. I gotta change my plans this whole week now. This litterally ruined my Halloween and birthday. Ahh...so many reasons why I'm starting to hate pesky young teenagers...

lol MAN $1000 for a windshield is a joke. goto a body shop and ask them to find out how much their guy charges. On my MSP I got a full windshield with new striping for $150 canadian. it was perfectly fine, no defects... if you spend $1000 you are only justifying the dealer's rapefest prices.

That sucks - people have no respect for other people's property and to shoot at you while driving is just unsafe and reckless. Sorry to hear about that.

Definately check out some local body shops - $1000 is crazy high. I would definately speak to my insurance if I was you.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your G bro. Kids nowadays do the craziest things. Shop around first before going through your insurance. The rims look good by the way. Good luck.

You have State Farm and don't want to call them?!? State Farm rocks! They will cover the full cost of the windshield, no deductible. Why would you consider throwing away $1000?

Always make sure to get ZERO deductable on glass whenever you buy any vehicle insurance...

Also, make sure to WATCH whoever is replacing your windshield very closely!!! I had mine replaced about a year ago and the installer broke 3 clips on each of the A-pillars when he removed them... He actually said "If you were not standing over me watching me, you would have never knwn once I put it back together" .... I was like WTF!!! that is EXACTLY why I am standing here watching you!!

needless to say both A-Pillars were replaced...

State Farm will fix the windshield without you having to pay a deductible and your rates won't go up. A few years ago my wife's car was broken into and the window was shattered. State Farm fixed it and my rates didn't go up.
