Damn, that's suck. Is it on your insurance? Did you consult with the lawyer?

Wow, $38K to repair it. It didn't look that damaged.

So what are you thinking about getting to replace it?

Wow. Glad you two are OK. Never trust a weld versus a forge. Enjoy the Vette if you get it. You certainly won't be disappointed in the least.

Top,

Did you have the SPC camber bolts or was the rear camber adjusted by the rods?

I'm just glad that you and your son are ok being a father of 3 myself.

Certain camber kits never looked right to me incl the kinetix.
I did a great deal of research on it and everyone that had them sold them eventually down the line. Why would someone with a great product eventually sell.

I'm glad that I waited for the SPC front and rear kit.
I would hate to think something like this would happen to me while I have my family in my car.
I hope you start looking into legal representation for putting you and your family in harms way.
When you get a chance can you take pictures of exactly where it broke and the damage(clearer Pictures incl suspension area?.
I have the front kinetix for 1 year now
spc in the back
no problems I check it every 6 months for greasing
now Im worried
sorry to hear that

Thank God you two are ok and no other parties involved in that incident.

I'd take a lot of pictures of where this broke. Just a faulty weld or was there rust at the weld joint, etc.
The good thing is your Dealer endorsed and installed these, otherwise Kinetix would have ammunition saying they were installed wrong if you had done the installation yourself.
What kind of warranty on these?

Your insurance co should be able to help with their lawyers in this. I'm sure they have an interest in someone paying them back for this damage.

If I had this kit, I would be checking mine for rust and/or hairline cracks at the welds which would be signs of guaranteed future failure down the road.

G/L with everything.
the kinetix are tig welded
very strong http://www.advantagefabricatedmetals...g-welding.html
can not believe they came apart WOW
the main thing is that you are ok...

Keep us updated if Kinetics will man-up and take responsibility. It could be a isolated incident. If they deny ANYTHING, then you'll know what kind of company they are. I think there was once someone posted a pic of a melted Kinetic plastic plenum.... It was before the site crash and all the pics got corrupted.

Kinetix needs to see this and man up to their product failing on a customer

A very smart suspension Guru on here and my350z.com said adjusting camber by the radius rods aka camber rods is a big no no. He mentioned something along the lines of changing the geometry of the rear suspension when its done. Is it enough to cause the rod to break? I don't know, but I had my rear camber adjusted using the SPC camber bolts.

that would mean they were installed or calibrated wrong by the dealer - dealer is liable.

it's either dealer or kinetix... I would get a lawyer on them both. other people need to know about this potential mishap if it's either a product or installation issue...

tig welding is only as effective as the experience and knowledge of the welder. i've seen many tig welds fail. i'm in the stainless steel business and our company is authorized for high pressure applications (boiler's/pressure vessels). this is the end of my commercial.
