Cheated by nissan :(
How's that suck for us? I'm not the one who went and debadged my g35 and put Nissan Skyline on my car. Are you just upset b/c it looks similar to the infinti? I mean the scion came out looking like the car. KIDS who get teh car will pull up to your g35 and realize they do not have the same car. Overall yes it'll suck to drive around with the resemblance, but oh well, we are not our car.
Then agian as long as it's not offered in CB i'll be a happy man!! Looks like i might have come up with a reason to get a BMW or more realistically a Porsche
Where the Honda/Acura boards furious when the CL was remodeled and looked 2Accord like. Do people here think they are on a pedistool by owning a 40k car?

I was hoping Nissan didn't produce this. This car may be quicker because it will be lighter....but it's FWD. The rear looks like a Volvo. Even just plain lookswise I like the G better...

nissan needed an answer to the accord coupe for years, and kinda the solora which i dont really like....thats the answer. I cant believe that rear quarter to window area is exactly like the g though. sick. i think its a really nice car and will do really well for nissan.
regardless if ppl dont like it, its exactly what we need. We may drive infinits but it is a division of nissan. If you want quality to go up, first the company needs to make more money. I think its a step in the rite direction.

I guess I'll be trading my Coupe in for the Altima Coupe!!!
j/k lol
No but seriously, its not a competitor for G35 Coupes, its made to compete with the Accord coupe, looks like it'll be doing a good job too. More reason for me to get the 08 Coupe when that comes out I guess...

With the exception of the side profile, I think Nissan has done a good job of differentiating this car with the G coupes. The spy pictures we saw earlier were very worrying, but there are a ton of other cars the Altima coupe resembles more than the G coupe.
The styling, price, and front wheel drive layout will provide a great package without any cannabilsm of the G coupe.
Now if only they would change their mind about bringing the GT-R under the Nissan badge.....

Wow this thread is really picking up speed... 27 people reading right now.
I think the interior on the new Altima Coupe is probably on par with the current G35 coupe (although I'm sure Nissan will offer a lot of them in cloth), but if you've seen the concept pix of the new G35 coupe, the new interior should blow the Altima interior out of the water. Same thing is true from an exterior styling standpoint. And as others have mentioned, probably the biggest difference will be the FWD v. RWD issue. Add on to that the various amenities and performance upgrades the G will likely have over the Altima, and I think the next generation cars will be very different.
The real victims of this car will be current G owners, mostly in terms of their pride. The current G and the new Altima are definitely in different classes, so it's not like someone will pass on a new or used G because they can save $15K and get "the same thing." That means theoretically the resale value of the coupes shouldn't take a hit, but it probably does mean that the "exclusivity" factor of our cars will decrease. I'm not saying that we drive exotics, but there are certainly fewer G35 coupes on the road than Altimas or Accords. This Altima coupe will probably be very successful as a volume seller, which means that the distinctiveness of our design will become more watered down.
