When i first saw that pics i thought that it was going to be a decent car. then i thought about our g's, how is this going to affect our cars? i don't think it's gonna matter,but there will be those people who will say that we bought a overpriced altima. I'm still gonna upgrade to an 08 g. if nissan wanted to bring another coupe into the family, i would have liked it to be the sentra coupe. I loves those oldshool B13's

I think some of you are making it to be a bigger deal that it actually is. Side by side, the cars will look very different. Just wait to see the car in person before getting so worked up over it.

 

Nissan/Renaud is using standard marketing/business practices - planned obsolescence. All major manufacturers do it - they have to, that's how they make money. I'm not saying I'm happy about it but it's not unexpected.

I'm also thinking the torque steer is going to be a problem on the Alti, just like the Maxima. There no replacement for rearwheel drive...

I love my G and it will always look hot and have much cleaner lines than that "Z-G-G6-Alty-Hybrid-Car" looking thing.....

 

We are in big trouble when that comes out. People are going to think that is the new G35 couple. Plus, when they put the 3.5 liter engine in, its gonna smoke us.

I agree, its ugly, but still.

I don't think that I will ever buy another nissan. Expecially after this move.

 

the new nissan: rear looks like a pontiac G6 and the front looks like a hybrid of m35 with g35 headlights right???????

none of us will "downgrade" to get the altima coupe .. i mean, that be supid. but i think many are pissed cuz it cheapens our car image. there are kids who gonna buy those altima coupes and think they are pretty equal to G.. and some may even think we just paid for an overpriced altima coupe with leather.. u see what i mean? sure, it prob dont matter to some, but sure does matter to many of us. its like the camery vs. lexus ES350. they are pretty much the same car excpet lexus has more toys in it with a better leather.lol.

obvoiusly, WE know the diff between the two. we have a better looking car, RWD, .. oh wait, and not much else..lol. i mean, we share alotta things with the last gen Altima.. dont believe me? go sit in one. the new altima coupe will have the same exact engine as ours (well, more like the whole nissan/infinit family uses the same exact engine.. altho nothing wrong with that) putting out 270hp. think bout it, thats pretty close to ours? why? cuz it's 270hp with the new SAE hp rating..meaning, its pretty much putting out close to same hp as we do.. now, its prob a lil ligher.. and many of the aftermarket parts that we Z/G are using, can easily be used on that altima too.. same engine and all! i wont be surprised many kids would buy them, mod them.. and easily smoke ALOTTA Gs out there. given that they are cheaper to begin with!
all in all, congrad to Nissan to put out a decent looking car that should out perform and prob out sell Accord coupe, G6, etc.. but sux for 1st gen G owners i guess. oh well, i'll just have to get rid of mine next year and get an 08 coupe.. or a bmw 335i i guess..

 

 

it looks ok i guess. theres still going to be a big difference between the g and the altima coupe though. nissan is acting smart in my opinion (getting more sales).

 

stuff like this makes me want to stop modding my car because eventually im gonna upgrade. i planned on keeping this car for life because i thought it was going to be an icon like he supra. nissan should of never desinged this car. so this is the actual car and not a concept?

 

I would consider moving to an '08 G coupe over an '08 Alt Coupe from my current car. This is a business move and nothing more for Nissan. They're just trying to increase they're bottom line and sell more cars to more people. And IF, in the process, true car fans feel crowded about the Alt Coupe moving in on our current G's... then c'mon over and see the ALL NEW G35 with 306hp+, RWD, and whatever other slew of features the pile into it.

You got that right. Every good design eventually gets recycled and sold at a cheaper price. That's good bu$iness. It also gives current G coupe owners another incentive to "upgrade". Again, good bu$iness. Just make sure the new design is compelling enough.

Nissan just wants to $pread the G love around.
