If Porsche can release the Cayman without worrying about the sales of the 997, I'm sure Nissan can release an Altima Coupe without hurting the sales of the 350Z or G35C.

hmm.. i dont know what to make out of all this. i'm happy for nissan and this new altima coupe prob will sell like hot cakes. but for our 1st gen G coupe owners, im not so sure its a great thing.
yes, we have the RWD and somewhat better interior and to me, better exterior styling. however, first gen (especially 03-04) Gs really arent that nicely built interior wise. power, i believe the new altima coupe will give us a run for our money.. why? cuz the altimas are running on par with our heavy/slow *** Gs already. they put out very similar power and besides been a FWD..they are quick lil *****.
the styling of the altima coupe..well, i think it looks decent. front is all altima, middle section is all G35.. imean, from the side u cant tell the difference between a G and that altima coupe. from the back, it looks alot like the pontiac G6, a little bit of G, and some Acura RL.
i'll hold my judgement on how this whole thing will affect us 1st gen Gs.. but im not feeling so great at the moment..lol. seroiusly, our 1st gen interior is already very Altima like (dont take my words for it? go look and drive in a altima for urself and u'll feel RIGHT AT HOME.. thats a bad thing).
the new 07 sedan's interior is so much better and i think the 2nd gen G coupe will not be affected much by that altima coupe, but us 1st gen-ers. will. i mean, seriously.. besides it been FWD.. it will prob be pretty close to our G performance, interior design is not as good looking but should be up to par in quality, and it looks so much like our cars.. :/

oh well, that def. ensures myself to wait and see how that 08 coupe comes out as.. or just sell my G and get a bmw 335i coupe. we'll c i guess..

IMO, it looks like shxt. Btw, I think the side shot looks liike a G6; which I think Pontiac copies from the G lol

 

i actually think cayman has stole some sales from some 997 buyers. and from all the top mag reviews and whatnot, they all believe cayman is actually a better platform/car than the 911s. the only down side to them is they are underpowered, and why? so people will shell out more money for the more powerful 911s.. but a true enthusiast knows that cayman is a better package and platform (mid-engine).. if it was given more power..game would be over for 911

 

in our case, i guess the only thing we have going for us 1st gen-ers is that we have RWD compare to the FWD altima coupe..and ours looks better overall, and is somewhat more luxury, and it carrys a Infiniti name plate..haha, altho i dont know how much that really means cuz we pay more for it too and the supposed luxury we get really isnt much compare to its competitors (bmw 3s, lexus IS, etc..).

Gimme a break. Do you really give a **** that some person may confuse your G with an Alty? Are you that insecure about your purchase?? As long as you still enjoy driving the G, who gives a ratz azz what people think you are driving.

Btw, everyone is comparing this 08 Alty Coupe to a current gen G Coupe. I think people should stick to comparing the same model year. We all have an idea what the 08 Coupe will look like and that doesn't resemble the 08 Alty Coupe in any way IMO. Just like the 07 Altima doesn't resemble the 07 G Sedan in any way.

 

but we are all driving 03-06 G coupes.. so hence the worry/hate.

i dont really hate on the new coupe. like i said, i think it should be good for nissan, just dont think its good for us.
now, we can all trade it in for that 08 or a bmw.. but, i wonder if our resale will suffer when that alti coupe comes out. only time will tell..

so when is that Supra coming out anyways? lol..

 

I'm not stressin. It's still just an Altima. Frontwheel drive and suspension no where near ours.
As the blog says...poor mans G35.
I think it looks nice, but doesn't compare to the G, JMHO.
