Short trips

I often travel on short trips (less than 1 mile) because I have to pick my girlfriend up from class and send her home & to work. I'm worried about the carbon buildup on my spark plugs and I'm planning on getting a HKS Twin power DLI II iginition amplifier. Would it help keep my spark plugs clean? I'm hoping for better mileage too

I'm also thinking of planning to change my spark plugs to a 1 step colder iridium spark plug while I'm at it.(What are the pros / cons of this ?)

edit: The car is a N/A 05 G35C 6mt

I would only use the OEM spark plugs. Read the manual, the only thing you have to worry about if you drive short trips is the frequency of the maintenance intervals. Don't sweat it, just change oil more often.
