Cool What can I negotiate on an 06 off the lot? Whats Invoice?

We were at the dealership and they were flooded with 06's while the 07's sat nessled around the corner. They basically said they need to get rid of them. They took 3k right off the top without ANY discussion. Im sure there is more play room without a doubt. The car we want is;

2006 6MT Diamond Graphite ,Premium Package, Aero, XM(who cares)

He claims sticker is $38,490 - $3000 off the top = $35,490.

What more can I negotiate? What is Invoice?

Thanks
Scott

let's just say I got a 2006 6MT with premium, nav, ras for 34,900. that was back in november. you do the math.

if you're financing, try to get 3.9 APR.

im not sure if the pricing should be the same

but i bought my car in december of 04
and they wanted to get rid of them to make room for the 05's.. just like in your situation (06/07s)
it has everything but navigation (AT) .. they even threw in the 05 19's
price was 33,250

We wanted to pay 32,000 before tax. Are you guys giving me #'s after fees and crap or just the cost of the car before all that. Yeah they said they will do the 3.9% as well.

Kevinn- what is "ras"? If you subtract the 1800 for navi, that puts us about 33100 not quite where we need to be Then again that was last month so who knows.

Just follow what Tiblot's said. Go to KBB.com or Edmunds.com and go select new car and input all the option you want and it will tell you the MSRP and INVOICE. 07 is now out and you MUST not take it if it is above invoice.

Edit:
Don't be greedy coz the dealer are the same way, if you can muster 1K-500 below invoice that's good.

If you want to pay 32,000 plus tax & lic 3,200 (which is approx 10%)

total otd is 35,200, tell the dealer that is what you want to pay. If they won't do it start calling other dealers. Someone will be willing to part ways with a car.

Please see attached. I'll say you shoot for below invoice and do not pay too much over invoice. Just as a reference I got mine at dead invoice. The items marked with the "T's" are tipically equiped so even if you decide not to have them, chances are that they come with the car. You can even print this and bring it to the dealer. I took my salesperson to a computer at the dealer and we configured my car online and I offered invoice as a "take it or leave it" deal and I also told him that any answer that is not a yes will be taken as a no and I was to immediately walk out. Needless to say he accepted. You gotta be very firm with this guys because they are NOT looking out for you, you have to do that. I hope this helps.
