Mystery of the clunking noise. etc

The Dealer called me today and said that the clunking sound coming from the back of my car when going over a bump at low speeds is being caused by a loose sun roof. I'l pick up my car tomorrow and see if they are right.

I'm friends with the Sales Manager at the Dealership and he told me that they are already getting excited about the '08 coupe. Unfortunately he can't get info about when it will be shipped to the US (rumor is mid to late summer), but he's being told that it will be a quick car. Apparently it will have nearly the same engine as the '08 Z which is rumored to put out around 350 HP. Nissan has positioned the G to be competitive with the BMW 3 series and we all know how quick the 335 is, so the '08 G35 coupe should be a high 4 sec 0/60 car.

Does this "clunking" noise sound like something hitting a hollow box?

It sounded like something was loose in the trunk. I initially thought it was some tools in the trunk that broke loose. The problem with sounds in a confined environment like a car is that the noise radiates around and it's tough to pinpoint its sorce when driving alone. At my dealership they always have two techs that test drive the car when checking for rattles.

I hear you. My friend at the Dealership told me that I'll be the first guy that he calls when the '08G is on its way to his Dealership. A 350 HP G with the revised HP rating will be a ball to drive. Can't wait 'till summer.
