Re: ECU

Hi all.
All this talk about resetting the ECU and the adaptive transmission has me confused!
I assume the talk about resetting the ECU has to do with the transmission adapting to the gentle driving during break-in.

Here's where I'm confused...If the ECU/transmission is smart enough to adapt to the gentle driving during break-in, why isn't it smart enough to re-adapt to more aggressive driving after break-in? If it does re-adapt, why the need to re-set the ECU?

Am I missing something here?

Thanks!

Life is too short...get out and live it!

Re: ECU

it's bcuz ecu won't re-adapt that quickly.. it's not like ecu will adjust every 5min driving...i believe ecu requires more than 50miles(i drove hard to reset the ecu without doing timing thing or disconnect batt but i feel a lot of improvement by disconnect ecu after 50miles driving so i guess it requires more than 50miles) in order to adapt to current setting.. can you drive g up to limit for more than 50miles? or wanna simply delete the old setting and re-adapt new right away...it's up to you...
