i'm not sure about the front's, but i recently had to change my rear tires- I had screws in my front AND rear tire and one of the guys at the tire shop wouldn't repair the rear tire because the thread debt was beyond 3/32 - He told me the front's last longer but then again He also told me that our Bridgestone Potenzas have a short life span- I have an '05 (got it in June) 19s and changed my rear tires first week of Dec.

Have you done an alignment? Tires burning up at 16K miles is not unreasonable but you should get more out of them with proper air pressure and alighnments. I usually take mine in twice a year...more if I have been driving hard a lot.

My pilot sports last 18-22k miles in the arizona heat.... 16k on the fronts sounds like you had some fun with the car around turns or ramps. I'd be a little concearned as I replaced the set when the rears go bad all at the same time, the fronts usually still have a good amount of tread left.

i had 18s before with michelin pilot tires and both front and rear lasted till 33K ... even though my dealership told me to change them when i had 20K on the car, i just didn't listen because i could see i had plenty of thread left

There's the problem right there. That's not enough air. I run 38 psi front and 36 rear. I believe you can go as high as 44 on Michelin Pilots but the ride is too harsh. 30 is terribly under inflated. If you don't believe me, call a high end wheel shop. Dealerships and regular places like Pep Boys or Sears know nothing about performance tire use. I have over 20 years experience.

When I replaced my old 17's, my rear's were completely gone but my front's still had thread on them. This was around 25k I think. My rear tires were really, really gone though.

Recently, I just changed my rear brake pads. My front's still had room on them. Lol. Too many brakestands I guess.

That's for the stock tires. Do you still have stock tires? My advice is only for PS2's. Use the tire manufacturers recommendation and you'll have longer tire wear. The Michelins on my Lexus have been there for 3 years. 38 front 36 rear. I do need a rear drive tire...the one that does the most pushing but the other 3 have more life in them.

Sounds like Bridgestones...............

Your lucky I only got 10K miles out of my last set of Stones. For what they
cost that is damn poor. On the sidewall of all tires is information on how
long the tred will last. Bridgestones are normally 140. Don't buy tires that
have less that 220 or 240! Get your 19s but deal with a company like the
TireRack and tell them you want quality tires that have a tred wear of at
least 240...traction AA etc. Michelins or Goodyears with the tread wear
of 220 or better will last you 30K......unless my wife is driving!
Check inside your door for the correct tire pressure 30 lbs isn't enough.
I run 37 lbs on all four corners without any issues.
