does anyone know who can install a compustar engine start alarm system on a 6mt in SoCal?

has anyone done the install themselves? tips, tricks? diagrams?

any help will do.

use to have one on my si, loved it...remote start was great feature while i was living in Minnesota...no idea about SoCal, i just checked their website, wasn't much help either...if you are REALLY interested join clubsi.com and search for the user HandCommand (usually find him in the Midwest regional forum) he worked for compustar when i got mine, great guy...HTH.

 

Go to the compustar site and click on "Locate a Dealer" you can either call them or email them your address and they will tell you the nearest dealer.

tried, their nearest dealer is about an hour and a half away but they won't install it on a manual...atleast the guy i talked to said they didn't. plus they charge an arm and a leg.

 

installing it on a manual is BS, the only reason why i went with a compustar is because, at the time, they were the only one who had a security feature for installing it on a manual...ie) you must leave it in neutral w/ the ebrake on when you get out of the car, if you reenter the car before remote starting it, the system would deactivate in case someone were to knock it in gear...is this shop an authorized dealer because every person i know with a compustar drives a stick

 

No direct experience in installing, but I know quite a couple guys with Compustar systems on all the cars in their respective fleets. They seem to love it...

 

I have a compustar on my 05 6mt with no problems and love it.

 

I was asking a friend about this the other day and he didnt know the answer so ill ask you guys. Is there a remote start system that is able to detect if the car is in gear, which disables the remote start function?

 

It is the BEST alarm out there.....when it says you can start you car from far away, they realy mean it. There is a guy on here named clokwork, pm him and he'll tell you what you wanna here.

 

I was looking at the cost of these on ebay and they arent that bad at all but how much are they gunna rape me for install?

 

I've picked up one of these alarms, and would like to know if there are any resources out there for installing these on a 6MT. Thanks!
