Chicken Shirt meter maids............

My son-in-law the other day gets a ticket for being 2 minutes over on the
meter and she gave him a ticket for not having a front license plate. When
he approached the car she was no where in sight.....which tells me she wrote
the ticket and waited for the time to expire......these meter maids should be
used for target practice!

Your son-in-law broke the law by not having a plate and attracted a cop who awarded him a couple of tickets - one of which he admittedly deserved - and the person doing their job should be shot?

How does that work?

If your SIL had obeyed the law and had a plate on his car, the meter maid you just wished dead probably wouldn't haven't even noticed his car.

Funny how people transfer blame for things, isn't it?

Like I said here:

If you invite them in, and he did, you can hardly blame them for what they do...

Yeah, I can't wait to get pulled over for my limo tint up front and them find 8 other things "wrong" with my car. But I'm not going to blame them for it. Their job. Just like pushing the limits on what I can get away with is my job.

Perhaps "Meter Maids" is the wrong term. They should be called "Revenue Maids" since the primary purpose of ticketing cars parked in expired meters is to increase revenue for the city, rather than "Punish Law Breakers". Any other tickets they can write is icing on the cake, so don't look for a break from them.

I think the reason he wants to use the person for target practice is because they wrote the tickets first and waited for time to expire to put it on his car. I cant blame the man for that, but I would use a paintball gun or a bb gun instead of some real fire power.

I've had more tickets in the past four months of living in LA, than I have had in the 11 years of my driving career elsewhere. It's absurd.

Uh, not quite sure about this, but doesn't that revenue goes towards some city maintenance - say, fixing potholes and such? Something to think about next time you complain about a hitting a pothole that bent your rim and wish the city had more money to hire more people to quickly fix those?

Rather than using a bb gun or paintball gun.. I think you should use the "thumb/index finger" method instead

Push away. They have the law on their side though. Hope you've got a fat checkbook.

Oh I agree. I'm not complaining. I know I'm responsible for my actions. It's just in my nature. I don't even speed, it's not necessary for me. But I do like the way my car looks, and I won't be surprised when I get a fix-it ticket. That's all.
