For all of you griping about how "safe" the G35 is. Just remember, this person was probably doing well over 100mph. There is no car on the market that is going to gurantee keeping you safe when the vehical is flipping down the highway at 100mph. Airbags are not designed for this type of accident. It wouldnt matter if 30 air bags went off. Any car pretty much ends up a pancake after flipping 9 times. Race cars have steel cages built around drivers to ensure safety for accidents at these speeds. Consumer vehicals dont.

The best safety device is common sense.

My condolences for your friend. RIP.
Ferrari Enzo can pretty much assure you a second chance at life at high speeds. At least thats what they say after the recent PCH, SLR vs Enzo race.

damn sorry to hear that. i just totaled my maxima. on 12.30.06 on the highway as well. i got ramp by a minivan directly on my drivers door. luckily i survived with no big injuries. i pulled a muscle and got few cuts on my left arm. im soo lucky no one was in the car with me. and no 1 got hurt. it was crazy. atlase 50 miles + direct hit. and every 1 was okay. guess it wwasn't my time.. every 1 drive safe please.. think about who co-signed your ride.. think about how things would be w.o.u. sorry to hear that from u. i got a friend died drag racing. few years back. he drove a 350z. he's 18. the ****ed up part was he took few people with him... thats why im totally hate street racing. cops came. he ran a red light goin atlease 90 MPH. direct hit at the minivan. every one died. in both car. soo sad. i felt sorry for my friend. but i felt even more sorry for the guy in the minivan.. ahhhh! every just becareful. u'll never know who u will hit...

That guy seriously lucked out. I took many of the pictures you've seen of that crash and I walked all through the accident scene. many factors came together to save that guys life. The angle he hit the hill helped scrub some speed, and the car hit the pole in the perfect spot. It hit right between the passenger compartment and the engine. If it hit 6" forward the guy would've had no chance. All that said an Enzo is one damn safe car.

It just goes to show you need to "think of the consequences before you act".....

Hey Know It All (and binder): What if the computer reveals that his airbag went off at his speed, and was the cause of him losing control? You are jumping to conclusions and reacting to the defective thought that we have a legal problem. Insurance premiums rise and fall due to bad investments of the billions that insurance companies collect from policy holders. Have you no faith in the Court system / jury system? If the evidence showed he lost control due to his 100 mph+ speeds, do you really have a lack of faith of your fellow people to reject any recovery on the slight chance it got to that point? You know deep down, it wouldn't even get to a jury. You're all caught up in the handfull of excessive verdicts you might see on the front page - they're only there because they're newsworthy and catch attention. You don't see the thousdands of verdicts where Plaintiffs are blanked or undercompensated or even fairly compensated - those are the verdicts that don't make the news because its nothing significant. Stop the narrow minded thinking.

I never knew a car could roll 9 times within a millisecond, must be some 'Back to the Future' type sh*t. When you are talking about triple digits, nothing will save you, regardless of what kind of car youre in. Try crashing in a hummer at 100+ mph, see if you come out walking. Some people dont realize the kind of destructive power, moving vehicles have. To the OP, sorry to hear about your friend, 22 is really a young age to die at, considering im 18 myself. My condolences to his family, and his friends. But to be honest with you, the only 1 that caused his death, was himself. Be happy he didnt take out an innocent person, maybe a father, or a sister, to a different family, along with him.
