I don't think SRT-4 can "smoke" our cars, it will be drivers race.

watching car and driver tv i think it was, (it was on spike tv) the guy said the neon did the 1/4 mile in 13.9..now with that said it was a professional driver but still... he also stated that the car has more horsepower than what dodge advertises

man few of you guy with the.......it was lucky, it MUST have been a manual, he got a good launch you didnt, he must have some sleeper mod, 20in wheels wont make you slower, g35s cant loose...comments! haha. all I can say is...V6 accords are fast in drag races against g35s. Yes please believe me!

for those who thinks their g35s are monster drag accelerators...stop living the lie! ha ha. 3400lb/280hp hurts. the car will eat up the accord on the track, but in the american way of racing(drag)...dont be surprised to have your *** handed to you on a silver platter by many cars. mustangs, V6 accords, s2000 etc...

no its not a conspiracy, I promise! and yes I am a g35 fan.

Re: smoked by a new accord!

Best 0-60 time i'v seen on an accord coupe is 5.9 seconds so i think that might be a problem for AT coupe. But again its a drivers race.

Re: smoked by a new accord!

englishguy, I just summarize and provide some statistics.
Your failure:
1. VDC was ON
2. 20" hurt your performace and you know why.
3. You need to raise your RPM next time and hit it. I hope you did.

Those stock 7th gen. (03+) Accord V6 6spd run 14.5 (1/4 mile). The mods available today for Accord are intake/exhaust/hyper ground wires/suspension and thats it. NO headers due to manifold design and obviously custom turbo which he was not. He could've removed back seat/spare and **** like that to drop some weight.

However, for the above 3 reasons you lost.

SRT-4 are underrated at 215hp more like 235-240 running from 14.0-14.3 (1/4) depending on the driver/track condition, etc.

If I were you. I would do the following get light 18" rims VOLK LE37T or SSR Competition (approx. 16-18lbs each) then get ECU reflash. Adding other mods will not hurt, however you're going to be beyound that Accord reach except probably mine hehe. Its up to you what you'll do and try to kick *** next time.

Re: smoked by a new accord!

Just a few observations I'd like to bring up in this conversation:

First off, why do people keep quoting 0-60mph times? First off, are these races only going to 60mph? Second, why not show some slips of 60' times as those are much more relevant in racing situations. 0-60mph is almost meaningless, especially when comparing a FWD vehicle to a RWD vehicle. Shoot, at least look at some trap speeds or something.

Second, 20 inch wheels hurt acceleration...they probably weigh more than the stock wheels as well. Probably takes off a few tenths if they're heavier than stocks.

Third, an Accord 6MT runs mid 14s...a typical G35 Coupe will run low 14s, right? I even see a few sigs around here of guys with I/E mods that are running 14.2-14.4. That constitutes a driver's race with an Accord, easily.

Also, I was reading that Mustang GT thread and its weird...the Mustang typically will run the 1/4 mile about .2+ seconds faster than the G35 Coupe 6MT yet its rightfully considered a driver's race by many of you. Flip it around, and compare your car with one that typically runs the 1/4 mile .2-.3 seconds slower and suddenly its a raping on the street? Weird.
