alrite...

i was just wondering, im a HS student and buying new rims isnt the best option for me cost wise...so i though the most effective way would be powder coating the stock 19" rims black...would you do that...or not?

well if money is tight...how is it that an M3 is in your choice? G35 + rims is still less thatn a M3....just tell your parents..."I will get the G35 and save you a few grand if you promise to get me a set of rims." that's what I'd do.

my parents wont do that...its not about how much they spend on the car, its once i get a car there is "no need" for it. They would just be like, "whats wrong with them now?" im not lookin at how much they will spend on the car, im lookin at how much i will have to spend once i have the car...lol

Then why didn't you get the m3 if money was an option.

M3 + Rims>G35 + Rims

i havent gotten either yet. I havent gotten the M because both of my best friends are trying to convince me to get the G. (they both hav one) and mods for the M's are more expensive than the G. money isnt as much as a concern for my parents as it is for me. Like i said im in HS and i cant exactly afford that much for the M. i will prolly be stuck once i get the basics(exhaust, rims, intake lowered, and other small stuff) because everything else is expensive(FI and such)

what are your goals? The M3 is faster than the G already. Basic mods on the G will not make it that much faster unless you go FI. If you're going for speed and power go with the M3.

for now i just want a nice car with lots of power to begin with (The M) and add basic ugrades like exhaust, headers, cams, software, intake, rims, lowered, minor cosmetic stuff etc., and js lay low. with the G, with the same stuff i wont even come close to the M(granted the M has the same mods). i want to be done with these mods by the time i get into college. (im a junior) The thing with the G is, it will be a little cheaper, and my friends have it, Thats about it. I will most likely get them M but i have to wait till the summer(my 17th bday) and see what kind of a deal i can get. but the G is always an option and i will still be a fan of it if i get an M.
