Mach350, you might have the 17 inch rims and tires. If you didn't get the tire and wheel package, then you have the 17s. It has nothing to do with 2003 vs 2004. And if you do have the 18s, I recommend you get snow tires, before you get in trouble.

G35 Coupe. Diamond Graphite, Graphite, Premium and wheel and Tire package. Zaino Baby.

2003 models have the same traction control setup as 2004s

Re: almost died today.. omg

damn all that and no damage to the G35? That's cool.

What was up with the tow man? Sounds like he was trying to pull some kind of scam on you. Did you ever fix the axle? Or was there just really nothing wrong with the axle?

Not only G35 coupe that handles bad in snow...so does all the RWD cars.

Yep, it's true. One of my previous cars was an '85 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. RWD and fairly light despite its size (lighter than the G by a few hundred lbs.). That thing was a NIGHTMARE in the snow. It was like a fish out of water.

I had that car in college in Albany, NY. One winter it snowed practically everyday, so I got fed up and bought chains for it. Put them on, and it was like wow - almost as good as 4WD - LOL

I don't think chains are recommended for our G's, but snow tires are, and I hear they work wonders.

The only time my G will see the snow is if I take a ski trip with it, and after hearing your story, I won't even attempt it without snow tires.

2fast-
Sorry to hear about the snow problems. I guess my salesman was right when he told me the Pilot Sports are like a hockey puck in snow.
Anyway, do you think you could have tried Infiniti roadside assistance instead of the stupid tow truck?
I hope all is well.

2fast, Glad you are alright. This is the reason why you need to move to Cali, it's better out here =P

I need a winter car. I am looking for a used Subaru. The Long Island winter isnt going to let me enjoy my G. It took me almost 3 hours to go 22 miles this past Friday!

Glad to hear that you're ok.

I take it you don't have LSD which would have greatly helped you in snow. I drove my car in snow and solid ice which got me where I needed to go with minimal trouble on the Michelins.

Infiniti has FREE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE.

Are you kidding me ? You have MT so they must be pilot sports. There aint no way pilots can handle snow and ice with minimal trouble. Dont give people that live in snowy areas wrong ideas about those tires.

Yes, I had minimal troubles. You start off in 2ND GEAR and feather the clutch until your LSD kicks in and gets traction. You also put about 50 - 75 lbs of weight between your rear axles. The VDC keeps your car straight while accelerating and helps you stop. I'm just giving them my experiences. If I lived in snowy areas, I'd get snow tires also.
