Just purchased vehicle this evening and was wondering if anyone purchased the Infiniti extended warranty (7yrs/100K) and how much you paid. Dealer was asking $1251. Opinions welcome.

 

So not worth it! Foremost, extended warranties cost the dealers pennies, yet they charge an arm and a leg for it. The coverage is also not what you think, or what they claim, as they find loop holes through EVERYTHING! Been there, done that! Infiniti actually rang me up for $2400!!!!! for an extended warrnty on my G, and when I saw it I flipped out! Talk about making a scene, I blew up!

If the dealers asking $1250, tell them you wont pay more than $800 and thats that! Trust me, DONT cave in! No matter what they tell ya!!! If they dont give it to you, tell them you may just shop else where for the car, and watch how they'll all of the sudden think that number is just right!

Be FIRM! Dont get taken for a ride! You control the sale, it shouldnt be the other way around!

Hmm...I bought the 100,000 mi extended warrenty from 1SourceWarrenty. I think it was like $1100 or so. The dealer wanted $1500 for the same coverage. Perhaps I still paid too much?
I was going to bypass extended warrenty, but I started thinking about all the things that could go wrong (GPS, auto-sealing window, etc...) and decided to buy the warrenty. Some might say it's a mistake, but if you can swing it, I guess it gives you a peace of mind.

i passed on it for the infiniti. supposed to have good quality, plus it's my second car. so i'll hit the years before i hit the mileage.

on my sentra, which is my daily driver, i took out the 7 / 100k.
assuming i stay at current job, i will avg between 25k and 30k miles per year. they had two avail. one with deduct and one without. without cost something like 900

Got mine from AAA. Just when a car is paid for is when things start going south. I got the exclusionary which tells you about 40 maintenance items that are not covered. Had it and used it on my Ford.

 

The car comes with 4 years/60k. Do you really have a car for much longer than that? I mean, we are "trendy" coupe buyers after all and I'm sure in four years there will be a new car catcing your eye. And besides, even after the 4 years you are still covered till 6/70k for the big stuff...the powertrain.
Can you get a pro-rated early termination refund on these warranties?

 

I received a pro rated refund on the remaining extended warranty I had on my (pos) corvette when I sold it.It was through GM
By the way I passed on it for my new coupe..if it turns out to be like my vette it's gone!!!! But I doubt it.

to be honest, i don't foresee owning this car for more than the standard warranty.. by the 4 years are up, there will probably be a bigger and badder G or some other car out there that will catch my eye..

in regards to the pricing, i was initially offered 1600 then he immediately dropped it to 1250.. after showing completely no interest, he said 850 final deal.. i still didn't take it.. personalli, i don't rack up many miles either, so it wasn't worth it to me..
