Is the 07 DG lighter than previous year's DG?

I have an 07 DG coupe and I swear it looks lighter than the older years. My 07 is still darker than my 05 BS coupe was but still, it's not as dark as say an 03.

Anyone else notice this or am I just crazy?

Next time you see an older Diamond Graphite G35, you should park next to it and let us know if it's lighter.

Is the paint on the '07 G35's as weak and chippy as the older ones?

They should make a dark gray for black paint fanatics, who don't really want to deal with maintanance issues.

Wasn't Infiniti coming out with that new type of paint that fixes itself?
Heard about that stuff awhile ago, thought it was going to be used on 07 models, but maybe it's for the 08's, idk.

Yeah supposedly Nissan had a patent or something on some self-healing paint. I haven't heard anything about it being used. I think about the concept of that mystery healing paint every time I'm outside washing my car.. usually around the time of the wash where I'm scrubbing dead bugs off the front bumper and noticing all the new little chips.

Maybe the car(s) in dg you saw have polishes or products like meguire's scratch X applied. I spoke to the meguire's detail guy at the long beach GP and he said to do a whole coat of meguirs scratch X before my coats of Meguirs NXT. I can say that it darkened up and made the paint shinier and as smooth as when I claybar the car.

Meguire's Scratch X + Meguire's NXT paste wax + Microfiber = Amazing
