Removing XM antenna

The G coupe I just purchased has an XM antenna mounted on the roof. The previous owner said it was a factory kit and is held by two sided tape. I mean it is really held. To me it looks like a periscope on the back of the roof. I would like to get it off and replace it with a smaller version but am worried about pulling the paint loose. Any Ideas?
Cheers

Use a hair dryer to slowly heat it up. After a short time it should be pliable.

heat + dental floss works great. then get you some adhesive
remover for left over glue//polish/wax or seal = love/love

if it is adhesive/two-sided tape then you can use a hair blow dryer + dental floss. then use Goo Gone to remove the adhesive. then wash it with soap and water (preferably wash the whole car) then wax it. should look like it wasnt even there in the first place.

go to the search button and put in "debadging"
it's kind of like that, but except do it to the XM antenna..

That will work.

If it has been on for a long time there may be a little fade in the paint around it but I would still do it.

Thanks for the opinions. I like the dental floss idea. Can't say what brand but it is two sided tape. GooGone won't hurt the paint?
I am considering selling it so I won't do anything just yet.
Thanks for the ideas

use a heat gun and a dental floss.. (hair dryer and dental floss if you dont have a heat gun)..

ITS THE TOP OF THE CAR WHO CARS ABOUT PAINT FADE -_-

googone WILL hurt the paint if you rub against the paint with it with pressure or if you let it sit on the paint..
