Hi. i am considering a g35 coupe, but i do not know which years are the best to get. I've heard there are bugs in some years like from 2003-2005.. after that, the bugs are fixed. is that true? i know the lower the year the cheaper the car.. but i dont want to get a g35 which has a lot of problems to fix. any help would be nice. thank you.

let me start with there is no such thing as a 2001 or 2002 g35 here in the us. i also heard that the 03 autos had some problems with the transmissions.

2003 - 2004, 6MT G35s had Brembo Brakes
2005 - 2007, 6MT G35s have standard sports suspension & 19" wheels
2003 - 2005, G35s have the 287hp motor? 278? one of those lol
2005 - 2007, 6MT G35s have 298hp motor
2005 - 2007, 5AT G35s have 280something? 279? lol i forgot hp motor
2003 - 2004, G35 have ugly interior trim
2005 - 2007, G35s have nice metal brush trim
2006 - 2007, G35s have projector headlights
2006 - 2007, G35s have memory seats (prem package)
2006 - 2007, G35s have bluetooth (prem package)

IMO buy a 05 6MT for the best bang for the buck

 

2004-2005 G35s have an optional aero package
2005-2007 G35s have an optional aero package (different style)
2004-2005 G35s have smooth tail lights
2006-2007 G35s have taillights that are indented in with a trunk button on there
2006-2007 G35s do not have Infiniti logos on their floor mats

 

begining of 2005 they stopped making ivory peral gs with black interior
mid 2005 they introduced a stone interior

2004 g35s have the option of twilight (sp?) blue

2006 g35s have a platinum? color? i dun remember

2005 have lakeshore or some type of other blue? lol

 

2003-2004 6MTs have a harder clutch then the 05-07 6MTs

2005+ have sexy pedals..

2005+ the sunglass holder was redesigned so it can actually fit sunglasses
2005+ cluster look different
2006+ navi can tilt and motorized
2005+ they got rid of 2 power sockets (driver/passenger) and put one in the glove compartment

2005+ G35s Sport package has bigger brakes then standard 03-04 g35s
2005+ 6MT g35s have a red 3.5 badge on the engine cover
2004 G35s have a ugly sat radio antenna
2005 G35s have a sexy one
2006 has a very small sexyer one

and i think thats it..

 

2005+ rear view mirrors are different then previous years
2006+ interiors have padding on the door arm rest.. previous models did not

ON THE SIDE NOTE:
If you can find a nice 2005 6MT Ivory Pearl with Graphite Interior.. thats sexy right there

oh yea... although the hp increased in 2005 and up, didn't the torque decrease slightly? or am i misinformed.

 

I think you're right, torque decreased slightly on the 298hp but higher redline which is also known as the rev-up engine.

is there any numbers of data on the 06-07 brakes compared to the brembos that came on the earlier models. I am speaking of 06-07 6mt and all earlier 6mt's.

06 6mt - 298hp and 260 ft lbs torque
06 auto - 280hp and 270 ft lbs of torque
