Headlights stopped working!!!

I was driving home the other night and I flicked my lights on/off 2 times to let an oncoming car know that he has his highbeams (i dont have highbeams cuz if yellow HID). When I went to turn them back on, they didnt work. I turn my fogs on and they worked When I had a chance to, I pulled over... shut the car off.. waiting a few seconds and then when I turned the car back on, they worked. Its strange because I swear the day before when I hit a bump, I could have sworn that they flickered off for a split second. Anyone else experience this???

are you running aftermarket hid's? sometimes, if you are, you need to run a relay for the ballast. the same thing would happen in my s10 with my HID's when i hit a bump, they would flicker really quick and then stay on...but never not turn on??

Stopped but came back on.........?

That is kinda strange that they would come back on so I seriously doubt
there burnt out. Check your connections from the fuse box to the headlights
themselves.....apparently something is loose!

I have never touched the factory headlights... i only replaced the factory fogs with HID's. It makes no sense that they would come on after I shut the car down.

Back up!

Anyone have any problems with the Ignitors at the bulbs being loose or something? I just changed out my Stock HIDs cause the right one was flickering.

I made sure the right new one i bought(got a new set of 6000k) was on really tight.

To click the ignitor to the HID you just push it in right? I changed the left one out, and had alot harder of a time getting the bulb off the ignitor.

So i drove my car today, 5 days after installing and driving for the first time on sat. night.

The light starts flickering(the new Bulbs) on the left side!! Its probably my installation, and the ignitor is loose i think. My question is, does it just click in place? Or did i attach it wrong? Do i have to turn it or anything when attaching it to the bulb?

I just pushed it on the bulb, and made sure it was all secure.

Tonight i noticed the light was going out, so when i arrived at my destination, the light happened to turn back on, so i banged the headlight gently and it went out.

What do you guys think?

With my ton of HID experiences, which I have not got on the G yet. To my believe your HID bulb is coming to an end. You will see it flickers (fast) sometimes then off. Take the bulb out and check if the gas inside turns dark, if it is, you should get a new pair on Ebay or so (save you some $ from the dealer). Ballast is possible, but it's a long shot. Since the OEM ballast are well designed (heat sink) on every knowing cars with HID. Try the bulb first! Good luck !

Actually, there was a thread about the ballast in our cars possibly not being sealed properly. I don't think that's the problem in this case though. Sounds like the bulbs or a wire is loose.

Hmm.... what could it be? Defective ballasts someone stated right? How do you know if yours is defective and does the dealer cover it even if your not underwarrenty anymore?
