seat bolsters

Greetings all. I test drove a G35C today and like almost everything about the car. Something that did bother me was seat bolsters. They are tight up against my sides .Necessary to keep you from throwing around the seat, but they were so stiff it felt like it would get uncomfortable while driving an hour to work every day.

I am suspecting they will wear in and get a little more cushy with use, but I was looking for other drivers opinions on this.

Re: seat bolsters

You must be a big guy. I weigh 210 and they are comfortable to me. I spent 10 hours straight in the car and didn't have any problems.

Re: seat bolsters

I'm 6'1, 225lbs. The bolsters were a concern of mine when I first looked at the G35 Coupes. They're still a little snug, but I'm used to it after 3 months of driving my coupe.

I'm 5'5 145lbs. So I can't compare, however, I must say that these are some of the most comfortable seats around.

I agree, they're very comfortable. The only thing I don't like is they are uncomfortable when you recline all the way to sleep.

Re: seat bolsters

I'm not that big framed...but at first the seats did seem alot more "snug" than my I35....I am quite pleased with them now because they do hold you in place during cornering...I do have a concern about the overall quality of the leather...I have my car only 3 months and already they seem to be creasing much more than my I35....I take my wallet out of my back pocket so it doesn't press into the seat bottom bolster!!! I still wouldn't trade my car for anything else...I'd rather buy a new seat every year!!!!!2old4this

Re: seat bolsters

HDClown-

I feel your pain. This has been a huge concern of mine since I ordered the car back in Sept. I'm 5'11", 240lbs and the seat feels downright tight to me. Not only the bolsters but the seat bottom. I really don't like the placement of the seat adjustments since I'll pretty much be sitting on them!

I'm simply hoping that over time, I'll get use to the bolsters and they won't bug me, but I'm just as concerned as you are. I really wish that they were adjustable!

Re: seat bolsters

I'm not a big guy... 5'8", about 180 lbs (needs to loose 20 lbs, but hey, I'm not HUGE!). I was wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a thin flannel coat and I felt "cramped'. I'm in FL, so jackets are something I rarely have one, so maybe removing that would help. The seat bottoms didn't feel tight, but the position of the controls is kind of stupid IMO because I can see how many people can be "sitting" on them unless they are thin. But how often do you adjust the seats, right?

Re: seat bolsters

Yeah they're a bit cramped for me too. I'm 5'11", 250lbs. The seat bottoms tend to eat into my legs at times. I was in the seat non-stop for 8 hours recently and the only thing I can tell you is that my initial discomfort did NOT get any worse over time. I do 2 - 3 hour drives all the time and it's not a big deal.

I did sit in Jason's 350z at the last meet and I was amazed at how much more comfortable the cloth seats were than the leather. They had much more give and seemed to mold around me better. If I can find Willow cloth seats I might consider trading with someone. Of course I would lose the seat-heaters but I don't really use them anyway.
