FA hacked

Looks like FreshAlloy has been hacked by some group calling themselves Junior Mafia Gangstahs. Appears to have found a hole in MySQL.

Re: FA hacked

Looks like they are still dealing with some issues, as it is realllly slow.

The question is, did they get any information out of the site, like e-mail addresses? Appears they got to the database.

Re: FA hacked

That's really sad. The punk/s that did this have way too much time on their hands.

Re: FA hacked

I fired off an email to the netherlands internet regulatory commitee that oversee's all providers therein, and one to the university where this kid is hosting his site...(www.kun.nl)

Lets see how well they act upon it

Looks like the email helped...

However I don't understand how a Catholic University would allow students to host porno?

Hello Eric,

We have looked into it and you're right. This behaviour is unacceptable and we will have to take some measures to make sure it does not happen again. We will keep you posted but please accept our apologies on behalf of our students (although I am not sure the hackers really are our students since the board is open to anyone, it's just hosted on one of our servers by one of our students) for this having happened in the first place.

Kind regards,

Re: FA hacked

They seem to be very prompt and resoponsible.

Dear Eric,

We have contacted the webmaster of the JMG site and he says he did not have anything to do with the hack and neither does he know who did it. He posted the message (after having received it from an anonymous source, which will most probably be the hacker himself) because he thought it was an interesting news item. However, he should have made it clear that his site and its users did not have anything to do with it. He has acknowledged this and he has apologised for this mistake. He has removed the message and replaced it with a note about the whole situation in which he clearly states that neither he nor anyone else from JMG approves of these kind of hacking "jokes".
I asked him why the hacker would leave a reference to JMG if he did not belong to JMG. He told me that JMG is a fairly large group and that some of its members would be capable of doing something like this but he also said that maybe it was a hacker that does not belong to JMG but just left the reference to be published on the JMG website.
The webmaster assured me this would never happen again and he would be more careful with posting news like this. Until something like this comes up again I personally see no reason to remove his site. I hope you are satisfied with this explanation.

Kind regards,
