on that note... is it better to coast in 4th at like 3k+ rpms or 5th at under 3k rpms?

i usually pick the lower rpms to coast in if given the choice - less money spent on gas.

i've found that if theres a load on the gear while your trying to pull it out without the clutch, you will have to use some force, but if u tap the gas while trying to take it out, it'll pop right out very easily. as u do that gears 1-4 can slide in at the right revs w/ out the clutch also but i dont suggest u do that often THAT is probably bad for it
