Is your steering wheel centered?

I have had numerous alignments in the four years of ownership, and although my specs end up within the limits, I usually have my steering wheel off centered pointing very slightly to the left (Let me emphasize very slightly). I'm willing to assume this is due to most road and highway grading going to the right side and the steering trying to compensate by going left. There is no pulling at highway speeds. I am somewhat obsesive compulsive so of course this bothers me somewhat. Does anyone else find their steering wheel somewhat off centered on straight highway trips or am I just too much of a perfectionist?

that would bother me too, my old car was mis-aligned like that. Try going to the stealership or a shop that can fix it and emphasize what you want fixed.

I am the same way, I had my car lowered on my swift springs and then got an alignment in santa clarita, ca and my car steering wheel was still a little off centered. Then I had my car re-aligned and the problem is now gone. I have to have things close to perfect.....

Sounds like you need a new alignment shop. Network alignment out here does mine and it's always spot-on.

I've had 2 different Infiniti dealerships doing the alignment and neither can get it straight. I was told to have the gas tank full for accuracy which I always do. The next time, I will ask to sit in the car while they do the alignment to see if that changes the equation.

You need to tell the people aligning the car that the wheel is off center. When they align they lock the wheel into a straight ahead position. It can be relatively easily adjusted back to center. Mine is spot on after an alignment. Now my 68 GTO, that's another story!

I specifically brought my car in to center the steering wheel. It had already been aligned. That was the only reason it went on to the alignment rack. What is their problem? Why can't 2 different Infiniti dealerships get the wheel to be centered? Is this Rocket Science? I also ask for a printout so that I can see that the toe specs are still within the limits.

if you do an alignment and adjust the front toe you need to lock the steering wheel (little device that wedge between the steering wheel and seat)

if the wheel is not centered when they make this adjustment then your wheel wont be centered..
