Ever heard of this?
I have an 06 6MT with 14,000 miles. I was driving last night for about 15 minutes with no problems. When I was getting on the highway, I downshifted to 4th and the car began to lose power - wouldn't even respond to me pushing the gas pedal. From that point, no matter what gear I was in, when I would get up to 2300 RPM the engine would surge violently, making the entire car buck (sort of like when you hit the rev limiter in a car). I finally pulled over, turned the car off and took a look (didn't see anything of course). Once I started it back up, it's been fine ever since.
I did drive through a massive rain storm earlier in the day, not sure if that matters. Also, I have the following mods:
AEM cold air intake
Motordyne MREV 2 (5/16" spacer)
Borla headers
Greddy true dual full catback exhaust
Any thoughts? Thanks for your help in advance

Well then take it in and have them look at it. It should be a simple fix and a fairly common problem so don't worry about it. Call them up. Drop it off. Pick up a loaner *****. Have some fun with it and pick up your car the next (cleaned, Vacuumed and ready)

Pull the MAS and take a look first. Did you get a CEL at all?
My guess is that it probably had something to do with your intake and MAF Sensor. There have been a lot of people posting about occasional random issues with stalling and loss of power at RPM's due to aftermarket intakes on our cars.

Yea I'd say its the MAF sensor on your intake tube. When i replaced mine i pulled outa my driveway and had the same exact thing happen when i couldnt pass like 2000 rpms. I opened my hood n noticed the maf sensor was unplugged. Jus make sure the sensor is plugged in securely and you should be fine.
its called "limp home mode" and is a feature of all skylines nissan has made since the 1990s
if there's a problem with the signal from the MAF sensor then it runs the car very rich and doesn't let he car rev above 2500rpm to protect the engine. as it has no idea of the airflow it tries to protect from a fatal lean-out
probably a loose wire somewhere.. check the plug, maybe use some wd-40 on the MAF plug
