G35- side-view HEATED mirror?

A few days ago we had sleet that froze over, all of the windows had a layer of ice on them, including the sideview mirrors. After about 10-15 minutes of driving, i noticed that the sideview mirrors were completely CLEAN and DRY of any ice or water.

I see no mention anywhere of heated outside mirrors, in the ESM. Could the ice just have fallen off from cautious driving and turning? (it was extremely icy out there- so had to drive cautiously)

Anybody else have a similar experience, or care to shed some light into this?

The mirrors are heated. It mentions either on the window sticker.

Exterior

• Comprehensive airflow management, including underbody sculpting, for low 0.29 coefficient of drag (Cd) and zero-lift front aerodynamics (0.28 Cd and zero-lift front and rear with optional Aero Package)
• Front-fender sightlines allow driver to position front wheels into corners more accurately
• Aluminum hood • High Intensity Discharge (HID) xenon headlights
• Integrated front fog lights • UV-reducing tinted glass
• Dual power, heated outside mirrors • Speed-sensing wipers increase intermittent wipes as vehicle speed increases
• Aluminum door-sill plates • LED taillights and center high-mounted stoplight offer quicker illumination, lower power consumption and longer life than conventional bulbs
• Rear window defroster with timer • Dual chrome exhaust finishers

They are heated... There is a grid of wire behind the glass part of the mirror. I got to see it quite nicely after a deer ran into the side of my car last fall and obliterated my driver side mirror.

They are only active when you have the rear defrost on...

Too bad they couldn't take off those useless options of Southern California G's to save weight. =D

Just like the heated seats. I'll never use them lol.

i use my heated seats everyday... i'm the kind of person who loves to crack the windows and sunroof... no matter how cold it is.. and in JerZ, it's freezing cold. The Heated seats sorta even it out

i tell ya what -- up here in MN, your priorities are a little different. i've only had my coupe for a few weeks, and the heated mirrors/seats have pulled their weight tenfold. i haven't even used many of the other, more expensive options (summer wheels/tires, sunroof, etc). oh -- and throw the VDC in there, too. a four hour drive on unfamiliar roads through near white-out conditions makes you appreciate these things. you guys in the south and west have it sooo lucky, hehe. but i have to admit it's kinda fun when every change of the season means you can play with options you haven't used for 6 months. it's like a different car. i've never even had my 18" wheels on. it'll be like starting all over with the perma-grin!

I'm also in SoCal, and those still come in handy. Since I don't have covered parking, there's a layer of dew on my car nearly every morning.

Good call Ryoken. Never parked my G outside, but I definitely know what you're talking about. I would love to shed the weight though. It's still February, and it's already getting hot. =D

Re: G35- side-view HEATED mirror?

What gets me about this, is that we have heated seats and mirrors, but the coupe doesn't like temps below 40 as for handeling. This just might be the 18"'s but couldn't have they selected better cold weather tires?

WRAH, first of all the 18's are NOT stock.... they are clearly labeled "Summer Tires" but hey thats what you get for the Sports Package or Wheels Package, otherwise the car comes with 17" All seasons STOCK, which are great in cold weather.

Re: G35- side-view HEATED mirror?

Did you ever get my message btw? I thought anything ordered from the factory was stock? I knew when I bought the car that 18's weren't worth a $hit in snow. Don't they make better 18's (all season) thats all.

Re: G35- side-view HEATED mirror?

So then a "stock" G35coupe has absolutly no options? Cloth seats, no heaters, no sun, no bose system, ext. Just the bare bones car? I got the sport pkg. for the limited slip, that and I love the infiniti 18 wheels. It does go in the snow, just not very well
Once the 18's get warmed up, they even do well in the cold....
